7.5 Months ago, I had an emergency csection to deliver my twins. (My girl decided to pop her bag and take us on a rollercoaster NICU sstay) It took us soo long to conceive, but I had a Mirena put in anyways... but a few months later I had so many horrible symptoms I took it out. Also stopped BFing around then because of lack of production. Anyways, I'm pregnant again, I have no idea how far along, I've only had 1 period since the twins and didn't write it down! I would guess 5-7 weeks. I'm terrified of all the complications, my doc never went over pregnancy after csection because I was going to be on BC. I'm worried my uterus is gonna spit in half and lose my baby, or that I will die... I need to stop Googling :cry::nope:

Yes, do yourself a major favor, and stop reading the horror stories. Statistically, while getting pregnant so soon after your primary c-section does increase your risk for complications, such as uterine rupture, the vast majority of women who become preggo within the first year of a c-section are JUST FINE. Yes, the risks are real, but the likelihood of joining the ranks of the horror stories are small...

What I would suggest, is to promptly have an ultrasound, so that your doctor can date the pregnancy, and you can see how things are going so far.

Good luck, and try not to worry!

I can't WAIT to get into my doc!! But my hubs is in the mil, so I have to go to the base first, get the labwork done, wait on a referral. GAHHH! I'm gonna at least have the lab run a progesterone if I can. I have problems producing enough usually. But my stick is SUPER dark line, so dark it stole the dye from the control line!!:haha: Hopefully since I am high risk, I can get them to put a rush on the referral!

Please stop reading the internet. People very rarely write postive things. Most stories are of a worrying nature.

I had my 6th section just under 2 weeks ago. When I fell pregnant I was feeling a lot of different emotions. I was delighted to be pregnant but terrified at the thought of all that could go wrong. Anyway, I went to my GP who couldnt believe I was visiting to arrange antenatal care, she accused me of lying about how many sections I had had saying, no hospital would do that many. She told me I would be stupid to continue with the pregnancy as from 28 weeks my uterus could split at any time and if it did baby would need to be delivered within minutes to reduce the risk of death to us both. Needless to say we walked out of the surgery with tears streaming down our faces feeling completely deflated. We went private for more advice and were told although the risks of complications during another section are high they are not that much higher than with my previous ones. I know in my heart any advice would not have changed my mind about wanting another child so the advice I seeked was for information purposes only as like you I read the internet and wish I hadn't.

On the 14th of May our beautiful little princess was delivered safely, without any complications to myself, I had to have my bladder repaired during my 5th c section. It sickens me that a GP who has know experience with complex pregnancies feels it neccessary o deem women who approach them for advice. If I was stupid enough to have listened to her our little girl would never have been born so when you do go to your GP always seek a second opinion if you are made to feel awkward or ask to speak to someone mre professional who has experience of c-section births that are close together. You certainly won't be the first lady to be pregnant again so soon after delivery.

Try relax, I know it can be difficult but I am sure you will be fine!

I'm not sure how helpful this will be to you but I had one of those 'horror stories' but both me and DS2 made it out alive.

When it comes to the risks I really suggest using google as a tool to find accurate information and statistics rather than personal stories (such as mine) and base you decisions on that. Good luck with the pregnancy.

As my baby delivered by C-Section died shortly after the consultant was almost expecting me to get pregnant again soon after.
She told me that most people heal as much as they ever will after about 3 or 4 months so unless you've been given a reason to believe you wouldn't fit into the most people category then don't worry about it.
I also know someone who got pregnant when her first baby was 5 months old (delivered by c-section) and she didn't have any issues

Jaydee, I'm so sorry for your loss.

I pray this time will be different for you, and that you end up with a healthy rainbow baby in your arms soon!

My two daughters are 17 months apart (so about the same gap as you) and they were both born via EMCS. Neither were an "urgent" c/s....just failure to progress...apparently my cervix doesn't like to dilate past 5cm.

Anyway - we are all perfectly healthy and there were ZERO complications with both c/s.

And I'm pregnant with a third right now :) Planned c/s this time.

Like jaydee, my son died shortly after birth at just 13 hours old, he was delivered by c section at 34 weeks. I was told to wait at least 6 months, possibly a year, and ideally 2 years. I got pregnant 6 months after we lost Joshua, and almost 4 weeks ago I delivered a healthy vbac baby. I had to fight for the vbac with the deliveries being so close together, and I had to be induced at 37+4 due to pre e. I was already consultant led due to losing Joshua. Only thing I was told from the start was that I wouldn't be allowed a water birth as I'd need continuous monitoring. Yes, some people have problems. My delivery wasn't straight forward, and needed forceps, and they did think I'd need an emcs, but only because everything happened so quickly (under 2 hour labour) I lost a lot of blood, there were no problems with my scar at all and the complications that arose weren't because of my previous c section. I think we're going to wait a year this time just to give my body time to heal after two close pregnancies x

Dont read the horror stories!

I had an emergency CS with my first, and was pregnant with my second 5 months PP!!! They are 14 months apart, my daughter was also born via CS but an elective, then 2.5 years later I had our second daughter via ELCS and I am pregnant with our 4th baby now, fell pregnant when DD2 was 14 months.

Please dont worry! It will be fine :)

^^That's nice to hear.....I want 4 kids relatively close in age but I'm scared of 4 c-sections close together.
