Reasons for pre-AF spotting?

I got my usual pre-AF spotting today.

I thought maybe it was due to low progesterone which is why I started charting this month but my temp was still high this morning so does that mean it's not due to low progesterone?

What other reasons can cause pre-AF spotting?

I am interested to know too - I always spot 2-4 days before AF and only have a tweleve day LP. My temp usually drops on the first day of spotting though...

I have a 14/15 day LP and I usually start spotting by 12DPO....from what I've read it's completely normal.
