Recurrent Miscarriage Thread

Oh sweetV, how awful! :hugs: It's good you will be seeing a high risk doctor but I can recommend checking whether he/she is specialised in recurrent miscarriages. Did you have any testing after your stillbirth? :hugs:

Sorry nope weaned off them from 13 weeksish

Im pleased about that, i couldnt work out if you was or wasnt

My obstetrician face showed a massive sign of relief when she new i had weaned off them at 12, recent research suggests they can cause placenta failure but she seemed ok about it when she new i had weaned off

She has asked me to wean off at 11 next time

xx

Oh I didn't know that. I'm still nervous that at my growth scans they're not checking the placenta enough but I'm really unfamiliar with any scans after 20 weeks so harder to tell what they're doing and checking.

Was it Dr s that had you on them with Isaac?

I didnt either but she wasnt concerned once she knew i had weaned off, i think she was trying to rule out possible causes for the abruption. My histology report just said retroplacental clot. Probably my stupid thryoid antibodies that caused it xx

I just started my progesterone today and AF is due today or tomorrow. Getting some faint lines but they're very very faint

Went in for beta today and hCG dropped from 67 to 51. I e-mailed my RE overseas to see what she wants me to do. I guess she'll take me off the progesterone and estrogen so I can start AF. Such a mess right now.

Bunnyhunny,
So sorry about your loss.
Everytime i have miscarriage i break and shatter. i say to myself this is it this is enough. And again couple of weeks later i become hopeful may be next pregnancy brings home a baby.today i m again getting hopeful ..not sure why.

Eme, amazing life, bunyhuny, sweetv - sorry to hear of your losses.

Kelly - I'm on progesterone from 7 DPO. Take it for a week, test when AF due; stop if negative, continue if positive.

Thanks ladies. I appreciate the kind words. Like you said, amazingLife, breaking and shattering happen every time. I just wish it would get easier to put the pieces back together.

I spoke to my RE and she has taken me off my meds, so now I am just waiting for AF. If my hCG has dropped sufficiently by next week, I will get to go right into another frozen embryo transfer cycle. (Gone through 3 IVF transfers and 2 frozen transfers in the last year.) This time she's going to have me on an immunosuppressant and aspirin from the beginning of the cycle (she did this once before for my ectopic cycle and that was the one time I actually got good beta numbers), and then I'll add in daily injections of Fraxiparine (blood thinner) starting at transfer. I'll stay on all of it until 12 weeks if I get pregnant.

cutieq- I'm keeping my FX'd for you and the progesterone doing what it needs to do. Congrats on the faint double lines. <3

SweetV- I am so sorry you're going through this, too. I'm sending lots of hugs and healing thoughts your way. :hugs:

Hey ladies. I know quite a few of you and popped in here a couple times before. But considering the circumstances of my losses, I've never had much to relate/contribute.

Just wanted to say I always read. I'm so sorry for the new ladies here.

Eme - I remember you from the February rainbows group. I left not long after you. Hope you're coping ok :hugs:.

Lol I have no trouble reminding. Four losses since July 2013.

- First was a MMC discovered at week 8.

- Second was another MMC discovered at week 10 (baby measuring 9). Had it tested. Turned out to 45X monosomy (Turner's syndrome). Was told it was a fluke and to try again. But they ran the typical blood clotting, APLS, thyroid, diabetes test. All came back normal.

- Third loss was very early. Pregnancy tests darkened then started going back the other way.

- Fourth, my latest, turned out to be a partial molar pregnancy.

Had all the typical tests done a second time. Again, they came back normal. Had our karyotypes tested. My husband has normal male chromosomes 46XY. I, however, have a pericentric inversion on my chromosome 9. Dr. said it was the most common inversion (1-3 % of the population) and him and the genetic counselor we spoke to both agreed it wasn't the cause of my miscarriages.

All of my losses are suspected chromosomal issues. No pattern to them whatsoever.

Progesterone won't help me, blood thinners won't help me, and steroids wouldn't either. Which is why I don't post here much lol. But always rooting for everybody. Especially you Hope with your late loss :hugs:.

Confuzion, I guess the good news for you is that one can only suffer so much bad luck! Next time has to be a healthy one for you!!!
Are you currently on a ttc break due to the molar pregnancy? How long do you have to wait?

I can only hope it's bad luck petitpas but I've got a nagging worry that there is just something defective about me that will always cause a chromosomal issue or another. Maybe egg quality? I don't know. Had my AMH tested and it was 5.51, perfectly normal for my age. But I know that doesn't really tell you much about quality either. Just quantity.

Yes, we're on a mandatory 6 month wait due to the partial molar pregnancy. We'll only end up waiting about 5 months since, through my research, I've found the most up-to-date recommendation to be 3 weeks of negative hcg tests followed by 3 monthly negative tests. So far, I've had all three weeklies come out negative, and my first monthly is also negative so 2 more to go to hopefully get the green light.

Thank you :hugs:. She is from a clinic that deals with recurrent mc and infertility issues. I have had all sorts of tests done from thyroid, thrombophillia genetic testing with my DH. No concrete answers. They are sending me for a hysteroscopy after a sono showed I may have adhesions from multiple D&C's.

Buny, I'm sorry for your loss. It's always devastating to hear :hugs:

I also have this nagging feeling! I seem to have no problem getting pregnant it's just keeping it. They won't do genetic testing for baby, they say even if it's positive it's a fluke. They test the parents and mine has all come back normal. I hate having to wait! I also need to wait to try again until after the holidays due to appt to check uterine cavity. I was suppose to have it last week but fell pregnant again in August only to mc again last week.
