Recurrent Miscarriage Thread

Squig I wonder if I can have it while getting an Iui? I'm pulling out all the drops because if this doesn't work I may hang it up. I'm going to call Monday and ask. And clexane is like lovenox? How far along are you squig? We sound similar I've miscarried from 6 to 8.5 weeks

Tasha that's encouraging. I've taken them 3 times now and haven't noticed anything so far

You would have to get it at least the month before your iui florida to give time to heal up. I'm 17 weeks by LMP, 15+5 by baby size.

DBZ, that's ridiculous! Waiting to see if you have another loss just isn't acceptable. Boo :hugs:

Eab, also in the UK so I can't help either, sorry.

Kelly - glad you have agreed to have another go. Good luck with the next one, I hope you get referred speedily to a specialist & can get some help.

Kelly, if you want to have your baby tested then the best is to have a d&c. Repeated d&cs can cause problems but I have had five and having the baby tested with the fifth is what was key in having my boy the next time I got pregnant.

As for your tests, I agree with Tasha that you are missing the clotting panel. That is usually the most obvious place to start but the test isn't cheap so some places try to avoid doing it.
I take it that your thyroid issues are well managed?

I have had 6 D&C's and have recently been diagnosed with scar tissue. Misoprostol (pill) doesn't work for me unfortunately.

Congrats squig! Are you going to find out the sec?
I read up on it and discovered that. It's a little too late as I start clomid tonight in addition to all else I've been taking. Soon to look at follicles is Tuesday am.

Fair enough - still perhaps worth considering if you don't catch this month, but good luck!

Yes I hope to find out the sex if baby co-operates at the scan :)

Yeah I kind of ran into this. They gave us a protocol and af started that very next day.
I hope so! Would you prefer pink or blue?

Hi, ladies!

So... not only did I ovulate on my own for the first time with no drugs, it looks like I've managed to get pregnant too! I really hope this one sticks, now that we've got my thyroid and testosterone under control.

Hey petitpas, why do you say that the test on your last loss was the key to have an healthy pregnancy? I am currently awaiting for the results of my last loss. Hopefully they are clear and no maternal contamination.
Thanks!

Misoprostol did not work for me either but they did vacuum aspiration in the office. I am still waiting to bleed though. Anyway, I read that castor oil packs and enzyme therapies can help dissolve scar tissue. in uterus and tubes.

Dbz34 that's not on that he changed his mind at the last minute as like you said you had gone through it with your dh are you happy about him doing this?
Ladies I hope you don't mind me asking but did you go in for d and c with your mc I've got to go in on wed to decide what I want to do I've already had a d and c but I'm worried that was the reason if took me a lot longer to get pregnant this time round I woundered if it was maybe better going for the tablet they give you

I decided not to go for D&C as I was afraid of scar tissue. I tried misoprostol but didnt work, although I heard it works in most cases. So they ended up doing vacuum aspiration in the office. It is safe although a bit painful. They got most of the tissue out and I could send it for testing. I am going again this thu to see what's going on. I will probably need to repeat the procedure as there was a tiny bit left. Good luck!

DBZ, how many losses have you had? To me it sounds unacceptable for you to wait for another loss before doing further testing. I wish I had done extensive testing before doing IVF.....

I have a phone consultation appointment with a reproductive immunologist this eve. I will let you know if I find out anything we dont already all know :)

I've had 3 D&Cs and they were a bit worried about damaging my cervix more than scarring but that's due to needing to be quite dilated as the babies have all been 12 weeks +

Anyway I managed to have no issues at all with my rainbow. also after D&Cs sometimes Ive fallen pregnant very quickly and this last time it took longer

Either is fine but I think this one is blue :)

Congratulations GP!

Eab, hope your consultation was useful.

Hey everyone, I've not been on this thread in quite some time, although I do think of you all. I'm just reading through and catching up. I'm always saddened to see new names on here but this an incredibly supportive and informative thread.

For those who don't know me I was very active on this thread 2011/2012 I had 9 miscarriages and 1 ectopic pregnancy (lost my right tube in surgery) I then went on to have a beautiful baby boy in 2013 taking progesterone, aspirin, clexane, steroids (prednisolone) and supplements. Last year 2014, I had a further ectopic pregnancy when baby had embedded in the stump of where my right tube was and had to have emergency surgery when it ruptured. I then got pregnant again straight away but lost the baby at around 8.5 weeks and miscarried naturally around 9 weeks.

I am going to try and read back but this thread can move very quickly if I remember correctly so just wanted to say a quick hello and jump back in for a while x.

Hi lee c lovely to meet you such a shame it is in here my appointment at hospital didn't go well at all they don't know when they can get me in as they are so busy they are trying to book me a bed and I will basically have to wait for a space I feel so alone at the moment I'm trying so hard to be strong for my little boy but I just really am struggling to pick myself up sorry for the down post ladies it's not a very positive one

Kelly That is awful, you need to try and be a little bit forceful hun, tell them you will be contacting Pals as this is not acceptable.

Tell them you are scared to mc natually again as the others have been horrific and you lost a lot of blood, you also want the baby testing too so its vital they get you in asap because they will make you catch it whilst sitting on the loo if not and then you have to deliver it to them somehow

I cant believe they dont know when there is a bed, our hospital allocate space for D&C, im always booked in for the next day

I would go back to them and push a little if you have the energy, i know its hard xx

Hello ladies

Lee, sorry to hear about your ectopic pregnancies and all your losses. Delighted to know you have a beautiful baby boy!

Kelly, I am so sorry for what you are going through. I agree with Hope. You really need to insist and take charge(as much as you can). This is too important and you want to get some answers.

Last night I had a phone consultation with a reproductive immunologist. He seemed really good. He has been doing this since 1990. He explained a lot of stuff and summarize the 4 possible immunological causes for recurrent MC. He also said that it is beneficial to do the testing before miscarrying. I wish I had known this. My RE said I should wait to MC and go back to zero HCG. So I waited... Anyway will send blood sample this Thu. Hopefully I can get some answers.

Hello to everybody!

Ladies,
for those of you who have taken or are taking prednisone/prednisolone, was it prescribed as a result of a specific diagnosis or did you doc decide to try and see if it would help even though your tests were normal?

Thanks a lot!

Mine was for specific diagnosis, originally we treated my thyroid antibodies with prednisolone 20mg, but i mc, i then got diagnosed with elevated nk cells so my dose was upped to 25mg

If you have any auto immune disease and have antibodies present then im sure the pred dampens them down
