Hey all

This past 4 weeks or so lo has been very active and I could pin point certain times of the day when it would be kicking etc.

Yesterday, I barely felt anything, I even tried drinking cold water/orange juice and lying down on my left side and some sugary sweets and nothing would budge it.

Then today, it started moving again but way lighter feelings than I have been used to.

Is this normal? Could it be the way it is lying?

I would call the midwife but I am afraid she will tell me Im over reacting.

All advice greatly appreciated!

Hi, I got worried on Tuesday because I hardly felt any movement at all. Yesterday morning I could feel movement but only very faintly but then last night baby really made up for it and was bouncing for hours and has been today too. I would give it another day and im sure your baby will be lively again like mine is x

Thanks Effalump, I have a midwife appt on Monday, but just didnt want to wait over the weekend if it still hasnt improved but will wait it out and see.

All this worrying really is so new to me!

Hi Hun,

I'm 23 weeks too and have noticed a definite decrease in movements the past few days, they are still there but generally a lot lighter. I think it depends where bubs is lying.

Mine seems to have a quiet day and then a more active one so I think it's still unpredicatable at the moment, also, as it's growing there will be less room for it to move about quite as freely.

Try not to worry hun but if you're still concerned I'd give your MW a call, that's what she's there for after all! :)

xxx

Thanks MrsFeehily

I will give it another while and see, I was thinking it might have had something to do with the way its lying.

So strange though how it can go mad one day and not the next!

I see your on team yellow too, how you finding it?

with me, one day baby will be very active and my tummy will be doing the mexican wave haha, but then there are times when hes very quiet and its just gentle taps. i do think its down to positioning :)
if you are worried though, do call your midwife or the number for hospital unit that should be in your notes, the 24 hour adviceline.
xxxx

Hi Hun, I really don't want to worry you, and I am sure everything is fine. But I would say please see your MW/A&E if you are worried, I didn't feel movement from my little boy all day, rang hospital and they told me to have a cold drink, made me feel like a time waster, morning after still felt nothing and went to a&e, again made to feel like a time waster, they gave me a scan and my little boy had gone. He was 23 weeks.

They are there to help, if your worried be persistent, good luck Hun I'm sure you'll be fine xxxx

babyell - that's such an awful experience - I'm sorry

However - it is still early for regularly strong movement so not feeling something is generally okay. I definetely have had a week of weaker and less movement I think she must have moved position - although I have felt something every day at least. Perhaps just give them a call to ease your mind.

I still get times now when baby is quiet, I generally go by my own rule of if I can feel baby moving even a small bit a few times a day then he/ she is ok. When Im 28 weeks+ I will start kick counting but until then you dont feel EVERY movement baby makes so it does feel like they have less active days x

Yes agreed what happened to me is rare, and that is why they were so dismissive, movements do lessen at this stage but just wanted to let OP know (without worrying her to death) that any concerns should be checked xxx

I would want to warn people too - sorry for your loss :hugs: xx

For the past four days I have had less movements, I am still getting kicks/ pokes and movements but before it felt like baby never slept. Now baby movement times are about 10 in morning and early evening.

:hugs: I can understand why you are worried because I feel worried about it too. I did have a midwife appointment 2 days ago and heart beat was fine.

Thanks so much for all your comments.

Babyell, I really appreciate your advice, and this is the one thing I was worrying about, however the little monkey has been moving about a good bit since before lunchtime, so maybe it was just the way it was lying.

I will keep an eye on it and I will ring in if it happens again, although I have a midwife appointment on Monday so fingers crossed it behaves until then.

Thanks again so much!
