Regarding the Preston – Lancashire 'Child's Cage-fighting'

I agree that the media blow some things out of proportion however, i wouldn't let my son cage fight - i also wouldn't let him box and i don't think this means he will go out on the streets and fight to get it out of his system. I can think of hundreds of hobbies i would rather my children did than any form of fighting and i think with the right parenting etc they can still grow up to be well balanced teens/adults.

There are plenty of things for kids to do that promote team work...sports clubs, boys/girls brigade. Where is the need for an 8yr old to learn how to wrestle, punch & kick others??

I have a 6 year old boy who has a 7yr friend who attends thai kwon do. He seems to think the trampoline outside is a wrestling ring, only last weekend he had a 4yr in tears because he kicked him in the stomach & tried to choke him!!! I would never encourage this in any way.
