Retained placenta

Hi ladies, have any of you experienced retained placenta?
At my 6 week check last week it was discovered that there was some placenta left behind. So now I have to go for d&c. Im booked in for this Friday. At the weekend I passed some of it and still bleeding. Is there a chance that it might be gone now or is it a sign theres more left as I'm still bleeding? I would really love if I didnt have to go under general anaesthetic

I made a thread about this the other day, I'm afraid I can't give advice but its good to know I'm not the only person going through this! I passed a massive chunk the other day, went to the doctor and he says he'll send me a letter about going for a scan, but didn't seem to really believe me/ think it was a big deal :/ hope you get it sorted!
