So I am 25+3 today and still haven't told work. There are a very few who know but thus far my pregnancy has remained a secret. My belly is definitely bigger but due to what I wear I can still manage to look more fat than pregnant (getting more difficult though!). I'm not really an announcement making kind of girl and to be honest it seems weird to just start telling folks just to tell them. One of my coworkers suggested I just not tell anyone and see how long it takes for folks to figure it out, a suggestion that isn't without appeal to me!
However, for Halloween I am planning to wear a shirt much like this. If I wait, I only get to wear it once and that bums me out a bit as I think it's really cute! So I was thinking perhaps I would wear it to work next week. It would very much be announcing my pregnancy but I think that way might be easierfor me than actually telling people. And after one night the entire department would know as gossip spreads like fire!
It's work appropriate for pregnant women to wear t-shirts once they begin to show and while I haven't seen anyone wearing a themed shirt like that, themed scrub tops are common. By wearing it to work I could actually get to wear it a few times during pregnancy versus once on Halloween.
Think this is an acceptable way to tell work? Or should I stick with a more traditional telling? I am in the US and work as a nurse in a hospital ER if that makes a difference.
