So got back the results from the sperm analysis and I'm so disheartened.

Low, low, low sperm count.

Low to the tune of about 3 million-per/ml. (They like to see about 20 million-per/ml as the low-water-mark).

I called the clinic and actually was put on the phone with the doctor, who is so great We are trying to get in to see a urologist to see if they can find anything physically wrong but, essentially, our chances of conceiving with Clomid + IUI + injectibles is probably less than half of what it would be were all things "normal."

Ugh. I'm depressed now.

The stupid progesterone doesn't help, I cried in the car after speaking to the doctor. He was SO nice, he said he's seen worse numbers produce babies, but once we start getting into IVF -- which may not be an option for us based on price and other factors. And with low sperm count, evidently IVF would be our best bet. (If I'm this much of a wreck on just progesterone, could you imagine how I'd be on clomid and other drugs...?).

Sorry. Just needed to vent. If anyone has any "miracle" stories about babies from IUI procedures with hubby's low sperm count - I'd be ALL EARS.

:sad2:

I am sorry hun! My friends husband had a low sperm count, (not sure exactly how much but lower then the 20 million mark) and she conceived three times.
Also I read on this forum some where that some one's husband's count increased significantly after taking maca.

So don't give up and stay strong.

:hugs:
