When are you supposed to send them out?

I would reccommend you send them as soon as the venue has been booked.

We are sending ours out soon - so at the 6 month mark roughly.

My friends sent their Save the Date cards out with their Christmas cards. They're getting married in September

Some other friends (who just got married in October) sent out Save the Date magnets (they look like thick card, but are magnetic!) in um... it was about the February I think.

It's supposed to be save the dates 6months before, invites 3months before.
However, because we have a lot of people coming from overseas and interstate, we're sending ours out a year in advance so that people who need to save/make travel plans have plenty of warning.

we are sending ares out in a few days like at 4 and a half months, then 2.5 mos the invites

I've just made all mine - saved alot of money doing this and they look great!!
And were sending ours out this weekend - were getting married in October!
So about 6-7 months for us and then we'll send out our invites in a couple of months
