Schools reopening

Urghhh I feel very overwhelmed today like I just need five mins to just scream let it all out and carry on !

Not sure if it’s because it’s been a very stressful week or I just can’t sleep until early hours . Now to annoy me even more I can’t seem to find a picture of DD1 (on my online storage ) on her 2nd birthday which I wanted to get printed and I’ve seen it in the last few months !! My minds going crazy !!!
I just hope it’s somewhere on DHs computer.

I hope you manage to find the photo!
It's so frustrating not being able to sleep and even more difficult when you've got things on your mind too preventing you from sleeping :hugs:

I know it’s only a photo and we have wayyy more but it’s so annoying !
Going to check on DHs computer I’m sure I’ve seen it there ! Fingers crossed !

Hope you find it. Did you send it to anyone else, it might be in a 'sent' folder on you email or in a WhatsApp message? Crossing my fingers for you.

I was thinking that too @Rags !

I’ve actually just been speaking to DH about it and he said I was on his computer a few weeks ago and said to him I’ve found that pic I was looking for. So hopefully I’m just getting mixed up and I’ve seen it there and not on my online storage

I’m making them all a photo album each of their first year to go with their baby books ! I don’t have many pics of myself from when I was under 2 so photographs of the kids are very important to me ! Like my OCD thing haha xx

I think that's a lovely idea. Like you I don't have photos as a baby (there are hundreds of my brother, the first born, but apparently the film with me on it was destroyed at the chemist who was developing it!!). I don't have many printed of DS but I did make up a book of his first 6 months and printed a few as he's gotten older. When you find it let us see it (if you're happy to show your children on here). Xx

Ahhh yeah that’s such a shame !! . We don’t have many printed either of the children with everything being online that’s why I thought these photo books would be lovely. I don’t think many people get photos printed that often these days unless it’s for a gift?! . I will post a pic when I eventually find !!!

Thanks Bev I’ve got DDs a unicorn one each and DS a dinosaur haha . Just gotta get organised and pick the pictures . I’m going to make a list of all the ones I want in there and then print them off .

I wonder how much it would actually cost to print off every single picture we own of our kids !

Tomorrow we are going over the park for DD2s project . We need to collect leaves etc and boy do I need to get out . if it rains I will be so annoyed !

Have you looked at some of the free printing apps? My niece uses one (she's asleep so I can't ask her) but she just had about 50 prints delivered last week and only paid postage, I think it may be called 'freeprints' I know it's something simple.

Have a great time at the park and fingers crossed for no rain!

Thanks @Rags this is exactly the one I use ! It’s great ! 45 prints and only pay £3.99 postage.I think

My anxiety is seriously not good I don’t know what’s happened just hit me out the blue one day sorta just felt off and it’s just got worse over the last few days. This lockdown is really hard this time around .

DD1 is missing school and her friends badly now . Keeps asking when it’s opening . DD2 has missed out on doing so much that DD1 did and won’t have half the amount of pictures from school. (We have been taking them at home when she’s done a project) so that’s something . She’s a home girl DD2 but even she’s now asking about school . My hearts just broken for them . This is not what their school life should be like ! I pray they go back in February and have a few months into Spring and Easter time. Urgh sorry for being a right downer ladies

Babybump, I'm so sorry you're feeling anxious and stressed, it must be awful as it begins to build up, especially when you can't find distractions. It's rotten that your dd1 is hating this so much, that can't be helping you, that mothers instinct to try to make everything right but not being able to. This too will pass Babybump, and although dd2 is missing things her sister did that's a really normal part of growing up - when I was at school I missed out on all of the p7 (last year of primary) rights of passage because the teachers were in dispute so refused to do all of the extra curricula stuff. A very similar thing happened in 6th year and in the end my year group had to make other arrangements by ourselves. What I'm trying to say is that the girls will get through and over this and in the future it will just be part of their history and they will remember very different things about it than we do - and I bet one of the best things they will remember is getting to spend all the extra time with you.

I'm so sorry you're having anxiety. It's so difficult watching our kids struggle and not be able to fix things for them. I hate the feeling of helplessness. I really do hope things improve soon :hugs:

I feel for you! I am hating how stressed all of this is making me and how impatient with the boys. I really hope things will improve soon and your anxiety will calm down. Do try and take some time off for yourself every day, even if it is just having a hot chocolate or something, putting your feet up for 30 or so minutes, reading or doing some online window shopping. :hugs:

Thanks rags this is exactly what I needed to read ! I know ever child is going to have a different school experience anyway . DD2 would rather be at home she enjoys school but likes her home comforts she’s having the time of her life haha. I know when they are older none of this will matter as long as they have great memories off all the fun things we did and the school projects we made together. I just felt very overwhelmed about it all .

Thanks Bev . I know it’s horrible when you can’t do anything at this moment in time ! They both seem there usual happy selves so I’m happy for that !

ohh the stress of homeschooling two children is just too much some days . We get everything online but we don’t have any face to face lessons which I think is why most of the kids are getting fed up . Can’t understand why they can’t do a few lessons each week . If they are worried about privacy just have a plain background with no family pics etc it’s not hard really to reach a compromise surely !

This is just a moment in time which sucks and it will be good again soon !

Schools delayed opening until 8 March here in the UK . #-o

least we know now a more realistic date which they might be able to go back .

yeah, it gave me such a sinking feeling to hear that, it seems like an eternity away.
Today in the class google meet the kids were told that the school board wants work to be turned in by 2pm but that they (our school) are ok with the work being turned in by 4pm. Hearing that and thinking at first that was the new time made me want to cry! Seriously, who comes up with these rules?! The pressure on the parents is bad enough as it is and I am not even a working mum! HOW would that be managed?! I suppose we'd need to start working before 9. So fed up!
