Hello everyone!
I had a 6w4d ultrasound, saw baby, heard baby's heartbeat at 116. I've been spotting, doctor said I have a 5% chance of MC. However, she said she saw a small scratch on the placenta. She said it usually corrects itself and is gone by the next ultrasound.

Have any of ya'll had this? I'm curious, I've never heard of this.
Thanks!

They may of ment a subchorionic heamatoma which can cause spotting. Usually corrects itself too.

No, I'm a midwife and see this a few times a year. I look after roughly 30-40 women in a year too so not uncommon really. By the time of birth it's not even something we'd consider to be of any note.
Fx'd for you :)

Oh thank you! I called my doctor back yesterday and it is a subchorionic hematoma! How concerned should I be? They said I had a 5% miscarriage rate, and tomorrow I'm 7 weeks exactly. I've been eating foods high in iron and vitamins, trying to do my very best and drink a lot of water!
