Hey ladies! :flower:
Lately I've been seeing glitter in the air, sort of... It happens at random times, and it lasts for maybe 15 seconds. It's as if the air in front of me gets twinkly. I can't really describe it.. Is this happening to anyone else?
Thank you!

Yeah I've been having it too. Very confusing. I told my midwife about it as i knew changes in vision could be a sign of preeclampsia but everything was normal so idk what's causing it.
You should tell your midwife though, always better to be safe than sorry.

Sounds like what ive got and I have pre-e :( hope that's not the case for u! Id speak to ur Dr/midwife about it! Good luck!

it may be "floaters" its fat deposits in ur eye and u see them in bright light ...pain in the arse!!!!

here is some info from NHS website:

Floaters are the small shapes that some people see floating in their field of vision. They can be different shapes and sizes, and they appear to be floating in front of everything that a person is looking at. They may appear as:
tiny black dots
small, shadowy dots
larger cloud-like spots
long, narrow strands
For more information, see Floaters - symptoms.
Floaters occur in the vitreous jelly of the eye, which is usually clear. They are pieces of debris that cast shadows onto the retina. It is the shadows that someone who has floaters is able to see.
Floaters most commonly develop as part of the natural ageing process, as the eyes get older. In most cases, they do not cause any significant problems and do not require treatment.

Mine are black and white little speckles. I only get them once in a while. I was in the shower the other day and it hit me. Then when I was walking I got it again I felt a Tad faint as well with it. Are yours black n white? Or color?

Check your BP it can happen when your BP is high

I was getting them for awhile too, while I had high BP. My BP is under control now and I'm not getting them anymore!

They were like, gold and glittery. The midwife called them "floaters."

Thank you for all your input! I guess I will go and get it checked out. Can't be normal... It is pretty though. :)

YES, ace! gold and glittery!!

I had them for most of the third tri on and off, and my BP was always low (90/60) so not necessarily a sign of pre-e but I would definitely get your BP checked

I get them and my bp is fine. Sometimes it's like glitter, all pretty and other times it's like i see things moving in the corner of my eye, i'm always convinced it's a spider! lol

I get this occasionally, but all is fine with me and my bp, so god knows what it is!

I get that occasionally! I think, for me, it happens when my blood pressure is wonky or if I'm dehydrated (or both!)

OMG!! i got this twice already and i thought i was seriously losing it.. it makes me look around the room until it stops because it like speckles everywhere its so crazy i never thought anything of it...

ive always had that ifi sneeze v hard, get up too quickly, if im being sick etc...when i was a little girl i thought it was my "real parents" (who were aliens btw) trying to signal to me that it was time to come home!lol

I love this lol

But yep I get them too, if i move too quickly, sneeze hard, cough hard etc bp been fine all the way through too

I see stars if I stand up too quick, or sneeze or something like that. I am pretty sure it's from low blood pressure, I can also feel dizzy with it or on a few rare occasions have blacked out. And this is pre pregnancy!

Even if your blood pressure is normal when checked, standing too quick can cause it to drop (orthostatic hypotension I think it's called), basically when you stand your heart has to pump a bit harder to get the blood up to your brain, but if you stand quick your heart doesn't have time to react so the pressure in your brain drops, causing dizziness and seeing stars.

haha sounds like me im like arghhh spider - oh never mind!

I get this too, particularly when I sneeze or cough. I mentioned it to the midwife and she said it was perfectly normal within pregnancy, something to do with increased blood flow. She did say that visual disturbances can be a sign of pre eclampsia though so it's worth mentioning.

I have something that I call 'sparkler sparkles' :haha:, you know the sparklers you get at bonfire night?! Need to mention it to MW really :flower:

I've had it too. asked the doctor about it and it can be a sign of high blood pressure. ( mine wasn't ) or can be a migraine, a painless one? if u have any extra swelling with it see a doctor straight away though.
