With my second, I had a carrier that was similar to a crossover purse. The baby lays in it and is strapped in and carried in front of the belly as when mommy was pregnant. There was a mass recall, but I know that the carrier wasn't to blame for the suffocations. If the carrier was used properly and the parent was attentive, nothing bad could happen. And it was not only convenient but also better on my back than a traditional carrier. I want two in gender neutral colors, (one is for a friend, one for me) and would be willing to pay. If no one on here has one, I'll try to make my own. But I'm not much of a seamstress and would rather find a real one. I'm in Gaffney, SC, USA. Sure hope someone can help!
