Sept, Oct & Nov 2011 Mummies and Babies

Kaydence has reflux pretty bad too and we took her to a special G.I. Doc and nutrionest and the gi doc said its best with no meds for her cuz zantac wasnt doing anything for her. The nutrion lady said to put her on 3 solids a day to get her weight up because she wasnt keeping much down. It has helped get her weight up but shes only on 1 - 2 solids a day.....

Its funny when we buy dresses the diaper covers fall right off her. I can atill put the 3 month covers with a 6-9 month dress so I save the covers and put them with other dresses

Flying- what is he eating? I havnt gave kaydence any finger foods yet cuz whatever goes in her hands gets tossed as far as it can go in about 10 seconds. She did take the spoon and put it in her mouth by her self the other day though but I'm afraid of her doing that.. .
do u think his teething necklace helps? Kaydence has one too but its not on her much because were always on the go, so im gonna get the bracelet so she can always wear it

I never take alana's teething necklace off apart from swimming. I noticed a real difference when I forgot to put it back on.

in that pic he has a slice of apple, but in the same sitting he had banana, orange, peach and feijoa too. He didn't like the feijoa, but the rest he loved!! hehe. It's all been fingerfood for us; I didn't want him to start solids until he could sit up and feed himself cos I was worried about the whole open gut thing etc. :)

And I'm not sure if the amber has helped at all or not, but he has worn the necklace 24/7 since we go it, and has two teeth so far that caused little problems coming through...?

So do they even wear it in the car and sleeping? Im afraid to leave it on during those times but hate giving meds. Im gonna try just giving kaydence full fruit too. Will try 2morrow

they usually have a disclaimer saying not to let them wear a necklace when unattended because it could be a choking hazard. They should be made to break if much force is put on them, but who knows really, and hence the disclaimer.... I am personally happy to leave it on him 24/7, but others aren't, so it really is a personal choice; much like everything about being a mum!!!! lol.

Caleb just had his 5 month check; he is 8.18kg/18lb, 68.5cm/27in long and has a 45cm/17in head. :D

I leave it on 24/7 apart from swimming it that is to do with the chlorine in the pool damaging the amber properties. I have seen them break with very little pressure on them. One of the children at nursery got through loads.

Cody eats Purees but prefers to chew on things himself. I am SO paranoid about choking/gagging though. I end up giving him super small pieces of stuff and then he just swallows it. LOL.

How do u get over that fear?

Cody got his 6 month shots today and they measured him as they hadn't last week. He's 28 inches. Which puts him in the 92nd percentile for length.

I never knew that babies don't really digest solids well. All his purees come out same color with his poop. LOL. I.E there will be his poop with swirrels of carrot/pea/squash puree LOL

I will try her necklace more often, I just gave her a cunk of apple to hold and eat but she chomped off a peice lol... Shes also 28 inches, atleast I know there r other really tall babies lol

Hey guys seems like things are getting quiet in here. Such is life with growing babies though I guess.

I took Libby to the cardiologist for her follow-up appointment on Tuesday and we got some bad news. She has a condition that means surgery. We're taking her in to the children's hopsital next Tuesday for a sedated ECG and then we will get the sugery date given to us shortly thereafter.

I'm trying hard not to obsess over the bad and just get through this but I can't say that I'm not completely and totally freaked out.

On the bright side both girls are as happy as ever. Libby is really chatty these days while Ashley is just a ray of sunshine with her big laughs and smiles. They sometimes are sitting for a short period on their own which is nice. Libby hasn't got the crawling thing quite yet but I've started baby-proofing. Corners and outlets are done, now on to installing the brackets for the gates.

Do u have any recent pix of the girls. I would love to c all the recent pix of all the babies. I will post mine soon

Aww litlestars sorry about Libby. I am sure she will be fine, they have at least discovered it early enough.
Oops waking baby

Oh no! I was thinking it woudl turn out to be nothing. I hope surgery goes smoothly and doesn't end up anything too complicated. Poor baby.

Littlestars, I'm so sorry to hear about Libby. I pray its something easy to fix and she's back to her happy self soon. :hugs:

Oh, LS, I'm sorry to hear about Libby! I hope it's a fast and pain free day for her and that she recovers quickly!! :hugs:
