Sept, Oct & Nov 2011 Mummies and Babies

Thanks for the concern girls. It is appreciated. We have a sedated ultrasound on Tuesday and I got the call telling me how to prepare Libby. Apparently I'm supposed to not feed her for 6 hours before!!!! The last few hours are going to be torture! Libby likes her food.

I finally got some photos uploaded. Here they are:
Just born, I *think* Ashley is on the left, Libby on the right

A day or two old, Libby left, Ashley right

Aww Libby and Ashley are so cute. I need to upload some pics of Alana but need to use my broken laptop for it.
I hope everyone is well.

Aww, too cute!!! It's crazy how much they change and how quickly!!

Poor Libby! I can't imagine not feeding Will for that long a stretch - I hope it passes fast for you and everything goes well :flower:

They're adorable! Kian is just being introduced to those Mum mums too! He likes it after I take a bite to remind him he wants it. Lol

So as I was getting ready to scan my delivery notes into the computer ( to email to the surro- people) i glanced through them.

It sounds like a horror story. HAHA, and much worse than I felt it was. Here are a few bits:

"Immediate Postpartum hemorrhage, delivered with postpartum complication"
"Iron Deficiency Anemia; Secondary to Blood Loss (Chronic)"
"....there was an excessive amount of blood loss....700ml estiamted."

Oh my, it doesn't sound very pleasant at all.

one of my staff had an early miscarriage today, it made me very sad and remember back to mine. I feel very sorry for her.

Hey there Ladies! :hi:

Sorry I have been MIA for a while. Life is so hectic with a 6 month old, and planning my return to work next month, it has left no time for BnB.

I have read back over all of the posts, and it has been great hearing how all of your babies are developing. Great news on the weight gain, sitting up, eating solids, etc.

So Freya is now over 16lbs, and eating 3 solid meals a day. She also has 2 teeth! (and im still breastfeeding, argh!)

Loved seeing all the newborn and older baby photos. I will do one too!

Littlestars, sorry to hear about Libby. Hope her sedated ultrasound went well today. Thinking of you.

xx

First photo - Freya at less than one hour old.
Second photo - Freya at almost 6 months old.

How times flies!!!!

xx

The twins are adorable littlestars! I hope things are going well with Libby!

Cute pics shelleney. Crazy how fast they change!

Libby did great on her sedation, though I think she really didn't like how it felt as it took effect before falling asleep. She was trying so hard to fight it and stay awake and that just made me sad and I started to cry a little. We left during the procedure and I bought her something at the gift shop before returning. I have a feeling she is going to get spoiled rotten during all this. She woke immediately after the procedure and had no complications so yay! One hurdle done..

We are now awaiting our surgery date, the case is being reviewed on Friday and then they will call us soon thereafter to book. She could be in as soon as next week or it might be 3 weeks wait. She will be in the hospital afterwards for 1-2 weeks depending on how well she heals, BP regulates etc. She has what is called a coarctation of the aorta and a bicuspid aortic valve.

In the meantime we are having a hell of a time getting DH's paternity leave approved from the military.. way too much red tape so now we're looking at getting compassionate leave.. either way he won't be working just a pain to get the right forms approved and signed.

Glad everything has gone well so far. Keep us updated!

So pleased that things have gone well so far. I guess it will be a long road but babies are very resilient, it is us parents that struggle the most. I hope everything runs smoothly for you all. X

Awww shucks, I feel like I killed the thread with my sad news. I'd love to hear how things are going with everyone.

The girls are kinda getting the hang of sitting unassisted for short periods of time but definitely need (pardon the term) babyistting when doing it or they'd fall flat on their noses. lol

Caleb has started pushing himself on to all fours a bit, and sits unassisted for ages and ages. He can also pull himself into a stand if something is in front of him when he's sitting... But no crawling yet! lol. He'll be 6 months old tomorrow!

Go Caleb. Alana loves standing and will walk everywhe if you hold her hands. As for crawling she can get her bum up or arms up and knees bent but not on all fours together. She tends to mish mash moving around between face plant shimmy and wriggle until She reaches said item. She still though frequently just gets frustrated and grumbles swimming on her belly, shouting.
I start back at work tomorrow 4 half days a week, Alana is still hit and miss with the bottle and I am so paranoid about her weight now I keep skipping meals to give her more breast milk. We have an appointment with the dietician on Tuesday and back to see the horrible paediatrician on the 30th.
we seem to have cracked ugh time sleeping again, I moved bedtime to 7pm as once I go back full time in June I could be at work until 6pm and so it was just an unrealistic bedtime.
she now sleeps until about 2 am feeds and then back down until around 5.30am. I feel so much better when I get at least 8 hours sleep, even if it is broken into two fours hour stints.
how is everyone getting on with solids now?

Kian still topples when sitting! I get frustrated and am like "just balance, dude seriously!??!" He is 7 months. My poor poor behind baby.

I wouldn't worry too much yet NYpage. Lauren sits very well and likes to stand, but have zero motivation to go anywhere! She rolled back to front a few times in a row a few months back and never since and she still refuses to go the other way. She gets close though. I really think it's a motivational thing for her. She doesn't seem to care to get anywhere. I think we need to start using our cats to get her to move, ha ha. They are the only thing I think she would go after :)

Cody's right there with Kian, Ny. And he'll be 8 months in 10 days.

Hopping on to say hi to everyone! Hope everyone's babies are wonderful. I'll type a bigger update later. Been super busy here lately, so here's hoping for a slow down.
