September Stars

If you want to speak to someone Louise limpetsmum is a lactation consultant she maybe able to offer some advice to help?

LadyK :flower: can you not book a private scan near you to put your mind at rest then book in with mw? As you know I'm really happy for you ;-)

Feel alot better ladies thanks xx so know sickness wasn't ms

Kara fantastic news !!!! I saw your pics at the baby show and wondered how toy beers doing with that so all the best to you my love x

Louise get some really good cream and put it on all the time even between feeds, make sure she is latched on properly. I think you can tell that by hearing snappy noises and slurps. Even if you cant try and make sure you can see no nipple etc
Tabs used to feed like that and it was totally agony she would only feed from one side for a week and I got horrible mastitis. What I mean is that its awful and painful when its going wrong but in most cases with the right help you can do it if you're really determined? Have you got any breastfeeding groups near by?
Sorry this is only if you really want to - just I struggled and I needed people to give me a boost. I wasnt allowed to leave the hospital until she could feed and had a room full of people crowding me each feed because nobody could get her to latch properly and it was down to a few people giving me tiny bits of information that started to help Anyhoooo

KARA awww lovely congratulations hun, it must be so hard to have that in your head all the time. x x

mummies of 3 or more, how do you think you would cope on your own? I still have in my head having another, but i'm a little worried about being on my own so much? Robin can be away up to 4 weeks at a time and sometimes home only a week, he can be stranded in the north sea (like he is now). But he can also be on normal 2 & 2 rotation... I ask this because my friend just had her third and she is LOVING LOVING it but she also told me she doesnt know if she would cope without the extra set of hands..... anyone any advice? :flower:

There's breasrfeeding help at the birthing centre as my friend went there for help. You could try them louise. Random info found out what dancing dishes was - used to be a cafe before changed to the Gurkha restaurant ...... Sorry only found out tonight made me laugh after saying I'd never heard of them last week - anyway pointless little but of info there

Blob my sister in law has 2 boys 12 and 10 then a little girl 5 it meant that she got and still does get alot of help from the other two kids they are also able to play and feed her when she was younger etc. I think you would be able to cope ;-). You always find a way

Glad you are feeling better Jelly.

Louise, I found the first few weeks really painful, particularly on one side and used to dread Harry waking and wanting a feed. I went to see a bfeeding specialist at the local hospital plus also used Lancoish (spelling?). Also my friend who had the same problem but far worse got some nipple shields. Oh and make sure she gets checked for tongue tie as it's sooo common. xx

I used nipple shields as had small nipples and found them great to use.

Kara - Congratulations, i can understand why you're worried. Maybe leave it a few weeks then see your GP or book your own private scan?

Louise - Heidi is gorgeous and the photo of all 4 of them on facebook was lovely! Hope you manage to get the feeding sorted. I never managed to feed the boys but Alyssa was a natural and i never had any problems with her i was really lucky. I've heard lasinoh cream can be good for sore nipples though.

Blob - I'm finding having 3 young children really difficult at the minute. Tyler is going through terrible 2's and having loads of awful tantrums and Jayden is really testing my patience at the minute with not doing what hes told and having tantrums etc. Alyssa is a little angel though. I found it much easier when she was a newborn to be honest!
Tarron does an awful lot for them as well when he comes home he's baths them and gets them into bed to give me a break which is great.
Having said that i cope all day on my own anyway so putting them to bed doesnt seem like much more to do. With Tarron being the forces we never know when he could be going away. So if he suddenly did have to go for 4-6 months although it would be hard i would cope because i'd have no other choice. I'd probably go and visit my mum or dad most weekend because they behave much better then haha!
I dont have much support where i live the nearest people i have are an hour away but i would still cope because i wouldn't have a choice!

IF I do decide then I wouldnt be thinking to try until next year sometime, so the Tabs would be p1 or 2 and Rosalie would be in playgroup/nursery everyday half the day... maybe that would help, or maybe not since I would be in a car all day with a tiny baby

when i had alyssa Jayden had just started pre-school and i found it harder that i had to get all 3 of them up and ready to get Jayden to school for 9am! lol.
Its easy now i've got used to it but back then it was a nightmare!

Yay Kara congratulations! Wishing you all the luck and sticky dust for this one. Can you go for a private viability/dating scan?

Louise I was just going to suggest talking to Angie (limpetsmum). She was really helpful when I was struggling to feed Evie and because of her I sorted the latch problems and soreness. I ended up stopping anyway because of how frequently she wanted feeding, but Angie really helped me with the positioning etc to ease the soreness. Also use Lansinoh religiously before and after every feed and if possible walk around topless to let your nipples air dry, helps heal the cracks xx

Boony im already doing that shift right now with Tabs at nursery and wouldnt be having another until I was a year into it probably? Realistically looking at a late 2014 baby  so I will be more than used to it by then... but we will see I just wondered how you were all coping with 3.

Louise there are sometimes ladies in your area who do breastfedding support, I had planned on being one for a long time and often your midwife will have a number of one? x

If mine were more spread out i imagine it would be alot easier but at the minute they all need so much of my time and its difficult. Worth it though :)

I always wonder how you guys cope with just 2 under 5s let alone 3, jake more of a help so I don't see myself with two children, but so many people have more than one child so think well it can't be that bad, otherwise people would just stop at 2...

Thanks guys, right now I don't even want a scan, my experience of scans is not a nice one this year... First time I was like yay scan !!! Second time I was I need a scan and now I'm dreading it... The way I see it is a scan isn't going to stop another MC, a good scan one week doesn't mean it's going to be good news at the next..... Im not even doing a ticker.... Xx

:hugs: ladyK , I know no matter what we say it won't change how you are feeling :hugs: I'm supistucious and won't join the June thread till 2nd tri as that's what I did with JJ. 1st tri is always a worrying stage but even more so with what you have been through this year

Kara i could imagine being like that totally, you dont need to go for scans remember :hugs: maybe you can put it off until you are like 15 weeks then see?

Hi ladies, will catch up better later but wanted to say thanks for advice re breastfeeding, I've decided to move onto formula because it's simply not working for us again, I do everything by the book, everyone says latch is good etc but I think the problem is that I'm
So big busted she simply can't get enough in her mouth to not be rubbing on my nipple, it's not a pain that I can work through especially as I'm
Not convinced it'll improve. I feel guilty and horrible about it because I desperately wanted it to work for us but I think it's just not to be!

In other news, Heidi slept 12-6 last night so I have my fingers crossed that she's another good sleeper like Lilia!!
