Not sure about that Diz, it is Monday morning!!
Only 2 more days until my midwife appointment and then another 2 days til my scan...... aaaaaggghhh, excited but nervous!!!!!!!!!

It's 1.10pm, so I have most of the day to get nervous! I'm meant to be working from home that morning but I suspect that I won't be at my most productive......

My first free one! I had a private one a couple weeks ago! But I cant count that as the sonographer had her head in frnt of the screen the whole time so I didnt see anything!!!!!

Oh of course, I remember you posting a pic!
I think I'm going to be in bits by Friday. First concern is to get over the midwife appointment as I'm terrified of having 6 lots of blood taken, but then I'm going to thinking about the scan 24-7!
It's just so daunting when you think about the significance of what they're going to tell me.... I'm trying to not even consider that everything might not be alright, that's just not an option, but it's the point when we can finally start treating this as really real, telling family, making definite plans, etc....

Hey Firegal,
When you see your little baby on the screen it will be the best feeling ever! I was bang on 13 weeks when i had mine, and like you I tried not to entertain the fact that there might be an issue. I was so grateful to see every thing was as it is supposed to be.
But it makes it all so real!!! We'll be buying little bits and pieces before you know it!

hey ladies! how are we all today?
had my mw appt this morning, it went well!! she was lovely and must have asked me a bazillion questions(maybe a bit OTT there
)
even asked me about domestic abuse and how my OH was coping etc...how randum LOL
now the next thing i have to look forward to is my 12week scan next thursday!!!!

hi ladies lol at you firegal mind you i cry at daft things on t.v too hormones eh?!
it is definately exciting now we are all getting closer to the 2nd trimester and having scans and appointments make it seem so much more real. my m/w app is on the 3rd or the 4th cant wait! been 8 weeks since i was booked in by my doctor so feels like it has taken ages to come around.
am in a rotten mood today df winding me up coz hes in a fowl mood and snapping at everyone. wish he could learn to control his temper. grrrr!
really pleased my sickness has started to ease took the girls out to the park and mananged to get down to the school to get a form to enrol my eldest into nursery come september. been wanting to go for ages but been to sick to walk down there hoping i havent left it too late for her to get a place as i know places get filled quickly.
i've bought my first baby item a disney roo towel couldnt resist! adfter my private scan i went looking at nursery sets and fallen in love with a boys set had to drag myself away and tell myself not to get my hopes up that it might be a boy. also had a look at double pushchairs. not sure which one to get yet as it will only be used when i take dd to and from nursery so dont want to spend too much but on the other hand want to get a double thats easy to push. have narrowed it down to a cosatto duet lite (or the mothercare version) or a phil and teds. x

I've told my boss and we told a couple that we're friends with just because we were going away with them so they would've noticed my morning sickness and lack of drinking! But that's it, we're waiting to tell everyone else until we've had the official all-clear.

I wanted to keep it quiet till 12 weeks, I really am envious of you lot who have been able to keep it quiet!
As soon as I had done the test and it had sunk in to hubby he was on the phone to everyone! I was a bit annoyed to say in the least, because it meant if somethin went/goes wrong we have not only got ourselves to deal with but his huge family and his mates and his work colegues to so its been pressure I havent really wanted!!
is it just me or did anyone else suddenly feel a big safer as soon as they hit double figures?!

I felt much safer on reaching double figures - to be honest I was so relieved to see heartbeat at 7w3d - I didn't let myself believe I was pregnant until after first scan as I have had 2 mc. I'm still very cautious now (but I know a lot of people feel that way).
I've only told my boss after 7w scan about the pregnancy (as he was really good with the 2 mc's I had) and because I am never ill and barely ever go to docs so he would have known something was up due to all the appointments I had.
My DH has also told his best mate - but other than that we've kept quiet. Its been torture - particularly the white lies and excuses about why I am not drinking. All my friends know I am partial to a glass of wine or a beer. So far i have managed (i think) to bluff it. It will be interesting to see after we tell people whether they had guessed!

I think quite a few friends will have guessed. Possibly not my closest mates, but some of OH's friends have been around us a few times in group situations where I normally would've been drinking, and I very obviously wasn't! Others at work may have spotted my sea-bands too.. I've tried to keep them covered, but it's not always possible. It will definitely be interesting anyway, seeing who knew and who's shocked!!
Oh and Star-dust to answer your question, I'm trying to just tell myself everything's fine and I have relaxed as time's passed, but I won't really feel totally secure until my scan. I haven't had anything yet, no heartbeat check, no early scan, so I'm just going off how I feel more than anything..... this week is definitely massive for me!
