Hi everybody!! Just come back from 12 week scan, everything normal and lovely, baby measuring exactly 12 weeks (good boy/girl!!) I'm at the risk of repeating myself as I'm going to post about this in the 1st Trimester Forum, so I won't say anymore, but go there to see pics!!!
Loads of
to everyone!!
*EDIT* Pasted from main forum (for reference on request!!):
Just had my 12 week scan, everything is normal, baby was measuring exactly 12 weeks today, and was on its head throughout the whole thing, with its bum in the air and wriggling around. Was so cool
Whole thing was a little bit stressful for me as I hate hospitals (not helpful when you're having a baby!!) To add to it, I got to see the nurse and she couldn't find the baby the first time!! Was VERY nerve wracking, she told me it was because my bladder was empty (which it wasn't as I'd drunk more than a pint beforehand and I could feel her pressing on it!!) so she told me to go and drink some more and come back in half an hour.
Half an hour later I was so desperate I was in pain, and nearly frantic with worry that baby wouldn't be there etc. It really helped that we heard the little heartbeat on friday, but it didn't stop me worrying!!!
We went back in and she found baby but it wasn't a very clear picture so she said she was going to pass us over to her colleague who had a newer machine. So we moved rooms and the new nurse who was obviously more experienced scanned me for two seconds and said "This lady has a retroverted uterus, it would be much better if her bladder was empty"!!! I was so relieved (in more ways than one!!) and after a quick toilet stop and being told by the first nurse that retroverted uterus is not such an unusual condition and she had one and gave birth fine, we settled down (comfortably) to look at bean.
It was so exciting to see his/her little heart beating and we had a giggle over him/her insisting on being on its head the whole time!!
Bloods were taken, and that went fine, even though I was a bit nervous because I'd never had it done before, and I'm so happy, I want to tell the whole world!! Babies really are miracles.
Hugs to everyone here!!!
