hi,

he's 4months and few days.

he screams the place down if he has to wait for milk to be warmed slightly and then gets too worked up to have it.

blake is on soya milk as he was projectile vomiting after ever feed with the sma gold, so docs put him on the wysoy (like older 2 were). therefore there isnt a hungrier verison hence why he has "something" alongside it.

the older 2 were weaned at 3half months BUT the guidelines at the time were 4months so it wasnt too early. and this was on advice of doc as there wasnt a hungrier option with soya milk.

the HV and nursery nurse are both really snotty ladies and you do things by the book, she told me the "guidelines for weaning are now 6months" and as i told her "as she said "guidelines", not law!!!" therefore there is nothing she can do apart from advise me.

Oh Amy, it sounds a nightmare i think that giving him real food is probably going to help if he won't take enough milk maybe give him his bottle and then offer him some baby rice afterwards at breakfast and lunch or tea i would definately up it to 2 meals even if it is just a taste. My health visitor told me that as i have 2 kids already that i know my children best and that i can think about starting weaning anytime after 17 weeks and that the guidelines are changing again to 17-20 weeks to start weaning as waiting till 6 months is too long. I really hope things improve for you soon.

I think you should ignore your HV too Amy, and give him a bit of rice or something to help sustain him. I gave Izzy a bit of baby rice yesterday, and will continue to do some every day now, her bottles are just not enough for her, she is on the max the bottle holds and still grizzly for more. I was intending to wait til 17 weeks but she is almost that now anyway. When i saw the HV before christmas she said to start weaning.

vicks- your not the only one...jack is nowere near weaning yet not even thinkin bout it, his weight is still on the same percentile as he was when he was born so i don't see the need...

o n jack giggled last night!!!...mum was tickling him after changing his bum n he giggled...got it all on video! i was laughing so hard i cryed lol

So do we wait for the HV to talk to us about weaning then? Joe was weighed 2 weeks ago but nothing was mentioned??? I'm going back again next Tuesday to have him weighed so I think I'll ask then, I don't want to leave it too long and miss the recommended time as he'll be 16 weeks this weekend. I need a bit of time to read up on weaning and what to do lol!

Have just seen there is a September 2010 thread in the 1st Tri!! Wow, that was us this time last year I remember getting my BFP on 27th December after having to wait all boxing day as nowhere was open for me to get a test!

OMG! that means we will all have 1yr olds!


i didnt even do a test until 13th jan, as i have endometriosis my periods were all over the place etc and i had stopped the pill in aug as told never concieve again. spent all of xmas and new yr, my birthday and OH birthday drinking, thought i was being sick due to too much alcohol. my mate joked i was pregnant so i went and got a test and i was.

I saw the September 2010 thread!!! Now thats scary!!! I tested on New years eve, thought i better cause i was feeling off, and didnt want to go out and get hammered if there was a chance i was pregnant! So a very sober new years eve last year and i am going to be sober this year too! Me and OH made a deal, i drunk on christmas day and he drinks new years eve, think i got the bad end of the deal especially as i didnt drink christmas day as felt ill!
Vicks- i think wean when u feel ready and when Joe shows signs of wanting something more. I did with Izzy because she was showing all the signs and started waking again numerous times a night. Plus she is a chubba chub and has doubled her birth weight

I'm not thinking about weaning Noah any time soon. He seems to be happy enough with his lot at the moment, so i'm going to leave him a while.

Happy New Year!

We got some good news yesterday - alex had her 3 months appointment at the hospital - they decided we dont need physio for now(because of the brain bleed) - shes doin great, her movement is fab!

Shes 12 weeks corrected age now. We've been told to wean too(you wean preemies early) ARRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH!

I've been dreading doing that! We've given her a try of rice already, it wasnt til yesterday she was really interested.

Hope everyone had a great time last night. I stayed in at my parents with Joe as OH went to a party with his family. Went to bed straight after midnight, how times have changed lol!!!
