Hehe salad cream and such are fine from the shops, don't worry about it...

Well, if you are taurus/gemini then it means your folks like summer fun and if you are one of the many s&s folk your 'rents ran outta 50ps for the heating metre by Jan/feb hahahaha ;)

Hey girls...

Not that Im trying to feed my own fire here or anything... but I was just wondering if any of yous would mind sharing how far along you are, and what you've had "done" so far, healthcare wise.

Have you had a pre natal physical?
Blood tests done? How many times?
Viability ultrasound? Nuchal scan? Anatomy scan?
Have you received any results?

Im 19 weeks tomorrow, and Ive been having so many problems with my doctors its ridiculous. I havent even had my prenatal physical/pap done yet... I havent had any more blood tests or pee tests done since the end of January, and were now in April.

I guess overall I just feel like nothings been done. I feel like I dont know anything about baby OR myself, at this point.

Im in the process right now of trying to get a referral to an ob/gyn from my doctors office, but just like Ive had to do for everything else, Im left waiting around.

Does anyone else feel this way? Or do I have good cause to feel this way, as you've all had more "done" than me? (Im aware its not a contest or anything... Im really not sure how to word it, I just know I feel completely out of control and like Im not receiving proper care for Baby, which is making me feel all out awful..).

tuna safe aswell yeah?

and lmao i love the theories above.
im what my parents explained as a planned accident as i got older, they wanted children just not quite as soon as i appeared lmao

windbloom-
ive had two scans, and emergency and a dating scan.
my first appmt with midwife
and my bloods done.
thats it x

windbloom - i had an emergency 8 week scan, 12 week dating scan, seen midwife, had bloods done and have got my 20 week scan booked for May 13th
xxx

Tuna is OK in moderation, about 2 portions a week is fine (no more than that due to mercury risks, but up to 2 portions is fine).

Re having what done.
On the NHS all I had was blood tests at the start, pretty comprehensive tests.
Then I would have had a dating scan but I got a private nichal scan.
In terms of the things you say, that's pretty much it
(except an emergency scan at 6 weeks, but no point counting that, as it was just an emergency thing and not routine).

I know a lot of people in canada have said they don't get a scan until 20 weeks, so perhaps that's normal over there?
I haven't had bloods or anything done again.
I do get urine and blood pressure checked every time I'm in for an appointment though.

If you're being seen that's the main thing. If you're not being seen at all, that's something to kick up a fuss about.

oh yeah i get my urine and blood pressure checked ay every appmt too.

what counts as a portion or tuna?

Medium sized tin I think.
As long as you're not having 10 tins a week, I think you're fine to be honest!
I'll look up properly though and let you know....

OK, here is the proper guidance from the NHS:
"You shouldn't eat more than two fresh tuna steaks, or four medium-sized cans (about 140g per can) of tuna a week. This works out at about six rounds of tuna sandwiches or three tuna salads."

Hey, here are my appointments:

6 weeks - told GP I was pregnant

9weeks - booking appointment with midwife, general history + BP taken, urine checked and bloods taken[full blood count/sickle cell/antibodies/rubella/Hepatitis+HIV]

12 weeks - dating scan, bloods for blood group, rhesus, syphillis (nice)

16 weeks *optional* triple test (well, I have it on the 20th)

20 weeks - anomaly scan scheduled - I also see the consultant here as I had a PPH

Then the midwife scheduled me in for appointments at 24/28/31/34/37/40 weeks.
xx

awesome,
tbh i dont know anyone who could actually ea that much tuna!
anyay im todlding off, finish this ep of ghost whisperer and then get my backside in gear

i had my booking in ap with midwife where i had urine tested, bp and bmi done. 12 week scan at the hosp. the midwife at 16 weeks for blood tests, urine tests bp and got to hear hb. got next scan at 20 weeks then midwife at 24 weeks

Windbloom, this is what I had:

5 weeks - told GP I was pregnant, had urine checked for proteins etc
12 weeks - 1st midwife appointment - bloods for HIV, syphillis, Rubella, etc, urine, height, weight & BP checked
12 weeks - nuchal scan combined with blood test for PPFA and HCG levels

That's it for me. I've got my next midwife appointment next week but I think that will be just BP, height, weight and urine. Maybe bub's heartbeat too, if I'm lucky!

Thanks everyone for your advice on anemia - I think that it probably the cause. I'm going to get some spinach on the way home...!
:bodyb:

Windbloom -

6 wks - I told GP I was pregnant
10 wks - Booking appointment
12 wks - Had dating scan
19 wks - emergency scan
20 wks - Sex scan
