What are you guys using for shampoo and conditioner. I have been using like a natural one. But it is making my hair just so dry.

I used Pantene pro v conditioner tonight and left it in my hair for two minutes. I heard this is not good. Now I am nervous

I never heard that there were shampoos you couldn't use. I've always just used my regular shampoo/conditioner. I don't believe it will hurt anything. 😊

Same here...unless its a medicated shampoo etc its not going to harm baby. Im sorry but there are far too many articles out there saying soooo much stuff is bad during pregnancy and its not. Its the same as everything now causes some form of cancer etc. If you think about it, many people have used these things in the past and all of us are fine. The only things you really need to worry about is meds, certain topical products such as face cleansers etc, the foods you eat and what you drink, smoking and drugs...etc most everyday things are just fine to use. Baby is well protected.

I havnt changed mine. Iv never heard of having ti change it!! Too much scare mongering about

I buy whatever is cheapest of on offer none are any harm

I really wouldn't worry about it Hun, although DS and this time I've just used what ever I fancied. It's too much scare monglering, the problem is if you do google things you find that we basically should sit doing nothing inc eating because it's all dangerous to us or baby - there are things that aren't safe like meds etc but never heard of shampoos

Never heard of shampoo being an issue

BUT on your topic of hair being dry yes this is really getting to me I use Aussie miracle moist and my hair is still dry and just not happy - lost what to do was considering putting some coconut oil in it when wet to help moisturise it

I've never heard of shampoos being harmful either!

I suffer with dry scalp too, well I thought it was dry scalp but since my hairdresser told me to use a smaller amount of shampoo its improved x

My hair has been mega dry too. It is normally slightly oily, but I am having to slather my hair in conditioner, leave it on for 30m an then rinse it off once per week. Each time I wash I am finishing with a hair oil too.

I have tried various things but that is all that is working for now!

My hair was turning to straw, swimming 3 times a week was nut helping, I got shampoo that takes chlorine out, which started helping and this loreal extraordinary oil shampoo and conditioner, after two washes my hair is almost normal again, magic!

I use whichever brand is on special offer. Using shampoo and conditioner is fine

Dry hair needs moisture so I would suggest coconut oil treatments. As for shampoo and conditioner, I'd suggest a clarifying shampoo wash first with a sulphate shampoo and then moving to sulfate free shampoo. These don't strip your hairs oils so much and are way better for you. Moving to non silicone conditioners means your hair won't suffer from build up of silcones which actually stop your hair from taking in moisture. Your hair might feel good from a silicone conditioner but it's basically coating your hair and drying it out from the inside-leading to damage and snapping.

Google what brands carry these type of products and you'll be surprised! Also, you will find the need to wash your hair less as time goes on, again helping your dry hair

In line with what Atomic Pink just said, I've used Green Beaver propylene glycol/sulphate/silicone free brand for a few years now and I don't use shampoo each time. If you have naturally curly hair you have dry hair which is better to shampoo twice/week max with a conditioner wash/rinse in the off times you shower but don't shampoo. I also put coconut oil on my skin after cream after the shower and what's left on my hands I run through my hair. More on the ends than the roots to keep it shiny and soft. Green beaver is only 1 brand without all the bad stuff but places like Whole Foods etc will sell lots of different brands.
