Sorry, forgot this thread existed! I'm third tri now- so scary how fast it has gone by :haha: How are you doing? Are you suffering from the dreaded morning sickness at all?

Oo not long to go now then! I escaped morning sickness but suffered from tiredness instead! Im ok now though and racing through my 2nd trimester. Don't know where time goes!

When you arrive, you'll check in at one reception, hand over your notes and then you'll go for your scan first. After the scan you will be sent to another waiting room - when you arrive at that waiting room they will give you a sample bottle which you can then go and fill! Then you take that in to your appointment with the midwife. That's what I did and it's what everyone else seemed to be doing there... you could see people arrive at the reception desk and then disappear with a little sample bottle in to the loo :) everyone has a full bladder cos it's straight after their scan!
I think at the end of that appointment they asked me if I wanted to arrange my next scan whilst I was there. As I did, I went back to the scanning area and they gave me the appointment there and then. I'm sure they would work around any holiday you may have planned. If you know when you're 20w then you can pretty much work out when it will be... but at your 12w scan they will no doubt change your date according to the measurements they take of the baby. My date got brought forward by 5 days. :)

Sorry for the ramble.... hope that makes sense! These are just the sort of questions I had before my first scan but didn't think to ask on here!

Thanks for the reply, it answered all my queries, now just to make time speed up!!!

I've only been a little bit sick, but have been exhausted!!

It'll be here before you know it... and then time will fly by!

Good luck x

I'm glad morning sickness wasn't too bad for either of you :) I remember the exhaustion stage. It's absolutely horrible. Don't worry, you'll feel so much better in a few weeks.

Scan went well except for the agonising wait while they confirmed yup there is a baby in there!

Just gotta wait for the blood test results to come through, fingers crossed! Have my 20 week scan booked in for the 17th July.

They moved my due date back 2 days so am now due 12th Dec rather than the 10th. Not too far out but nudging that little bit nearer Christmas!

Yippee! Bet you're feeling great now youve seen the little one in there? Now you can Starr telling everyone!

Great scan piccie too :)

Thanks, I have started to tell non Sheffield people today. Then will tell my boss in the morning and start to tell my Sheffield friends later that day!

Didn't really enjoy the weekend, unfortunately :haha: Too damp to do anything and I have exam revision which I should be doing. How about you?

And I'm really jealous of you sw121, another 9 and a half weeks for me!

Your scan photo is lovely :) The first scan is such a nice experience.

Feel like I've been pregnant forever! I have a growth scan on Thursday, so I should find out more about when I might be induced (I have GD so they won't let me go past 40 weeks). It's started flying by now I've finsihed work. So glad we're in June now - we can now say the baby is due this month!! :happydance:

And I'm jealous of you emz_x - still another 19 weeks for me so you've got a good headstart on me!

That's the fun part - everyone will be so excited for you and it makes you excited all over again! :)

Rub it in, why don't you :haha: That's very exciting news! I have a growth scan in less than two weeks because of a low pre-pregnancy BMI. Looking back on it, it seems like the weeks have gone by so quickly (apart from first tri). However, it also feels like I've been pregnant forever at this moment in time. I think it's going to take me a while to learn how to walk normally after baby is born rather than waddling.

Oh, mungaroo26 is right. It definitely will start to get exciting all over again when you have people close to you who are also excited about the news :)

Don't worry mungaroo26, it will fly by for sure :)
