:flower:Hey ladies, I am new here. I am the proud mamma of two babes ages 11 and 9, but I am having trouble this time around. I never had any issues getting pregnant with my first two, so this go around has really got me feeling hopeless. I have been doing a lot of research and it appears as though i have a luteal phase of about 11 days. I know drs say a lp of 10 days is good but many fertility specialist say that a lp of 12-14 is ideal. I am currently on cycle day 9 and I started taking a 100mg of vitamin B6 on cycle day one of this cycle. I have heard many great things of b complex vitamins helping women to get the bfp they dream of. My question is do any ladies out there have the same issue or has anyone had bfp success after starting B vitamins for luteal phase defect. any advice or even support from other ttc'rs would be wonderful. Seeing all of my friends and family members getting pregnant really makes me feel down.

Hello!
I have a 10 day LP and also have two children. I’ve been wondering about whether it would be causing any issues but figured I managed two other pregnancies so have tried not to worry.
Will be interested to see what others say though!

Jellybeanxx Hello!
Sorry for the long paragraph lol. I had both of my babes easily. I was not preventing , but we also weren't ttc. I was also only 20 years old at the time of my dd birth 9 years ago. since her birth, I went on the Mirena IUD. Worst decision of my life!!! After 6 mos they had to remove it because it was causing me daily pain, and go figure they couldn't locate it so it took ultrasound and extra time to remove it. In the next 6 mos after its removal, I went on the pill and I left my children's father due to some abuse issues. Here I am 9 years later getting ready to marry the man of my dreams, but it kills me to think that I may not be able to give him a child of his own. We have been together for 6.5 years now, and in this time we have not used protection. We were not ttc but we also weren't taking any measures to prevent it. So in 6.5 years of no BC I still haven't managed to get pregnant, which I just dont understand. My children have been asking about a brother or sister the past year or so and i want for that more than anything. I have recently (since NOV 17) put on 30 lbs which is good seeing as i was underweight. In the first half of this year I am noticing that my periods seem to be weird. I will get all pg symptoms and then have late periods but the late ones seem to either be really heavy for 1-2 days max or I will bleed a small amt and spot for days. I feel like I have had some chemical pregnancies and that when it is time to implant my body is gearing up for AF. I am hoping the B6 and B12 will regulate my cycle and allow me the oppertunity to become a momma for the 3rd time. I hear so many wonderful things about b vitamins and fertility so i was hoping we can create this thread for positive and encouragement along the way.

Sounds like the vitamins are definitely worth a go!
Are you going to have any testing done? Might be worth speaking to your doctor as well especially if your cycles have been a bit wonky.

Jellybeanxx! I haven't been to a specialist yet, but more so due to insurance issues, than not wanting to go. I now have insurance that does cover fertility treatment. I would like to try on my own first before having medical intervention. I am leaning towards a hormone imbalance and low weight (5'8 at 115)for the past 6 years. I am hoping that now that i weigh a healthy 145 and am taking the vitamins that it will give my body the push it needs. I know 11 day leuteal phase isn't terrible, but along with that I have irregular cycles some being 28 days to as long as 35, I notice brown spotting after my AF stops. I also noticed that my tempature always seems to be on the low side even after ovulation. my body temp tends to avg around 97.3F after ovulation it may go up to 98F. Like i stated earlier, I have started taking the bvitamins this cycle on day one of my AF. I have already noticed in the past 10 days that my AF cleared up alot faster than previous cycles. I have had NO spotting since cycle day 6 and now at cycle day 10 my cervix is high, almost unreachable and its soft, wet, and i am noticing more discharge. Normally I O late in the cycle around cycle day 20. Could the b vitamin be regulating my cycle already, bringing Ovulation forward?

Sounds like good progress towards improving your cycle. Maybe it’s the combination of a healthier weight and starting the vitamins?

jellybeanxx I am praying so!! I have heard that b vitamins are great for correcting cycles and producing progesterone naturally. Here is to hoping that I see improvements this cycle. How is your TTC journey going thus far?

We’re only on our second cycle of properly trying. My first two both took nearly 18 months of TTC each so I’m expecting to be in it for a while this time too. I’m mostly okay with that I think! I’m trying to get my body as healthy as I can for pregnancy. Not always easy with two small children to look after though.

jellybeanxx i am sending lots of baby dust your way. Fingers crossed that we both get the BFP we are so badly hoping for :dust:

With my first I had a really short one I remember. I started having sex every other day the first day after my period. I was successful within 4 months.

clairbear0,

That gives me hope. I am really hopeful that the b vitamins help me. I am now on cycle day 15 with taking b complex daily since day 1. So far it seems to be doing wonders for me. I feel like I have already O'd which would mean that my ovulation date moved forward by a week almost. The only reason I am weary to say i ovulated for certain is because I typically rely on cp and ovulation pains seeing as my temps are unreliable. I don't know if its the b6 but I am not having cramps worthy of noting this month. I noticed a huge amount of ewcm last Wednsday when the opk was its darkest and we bd that night. Now at cycle day 15 the only thing i am noticing is milky white discharge so I am in limbo lol:dohh:

Hey Sarah, I have a 10-11 day LP but I probably always have as I’ve had short cycles since I started getting periods. While TTC my first babe, I tried B6 without much luck. It turns out that an underactive thyroid is the culprit for me. My CD3 bloodwork showed TSH over 2.5 and high Prolactin. I guess these both can cause all sorts of ovulation disorders. For me, I O regularly, but my corpus luteum fails early which is why my LP is short. I needed to go on levo and use P and E2 hormone support to get and stay pregnant. I guess my problem is rare, but would really encourage further testing to help you figure out what’s going on. If you do end up down that path, it is bittersweet but it’s definitely worth it. We conceived our Rainbow on our first cycle of treatment <3

lesondemavie,

I have always had normalish cycles. typically 28-32 days with an 11 day LP. I do have two children already ages 9 and 11. They were both huge surprises, so safe to say i did not have any issues conceiving the first two times. I have had the mirena in and taken out due to complications. I am thinking that the two previous pregnancies combined with complicated mirena may have thrown my hormones way off balance. I thought i was going to O last week as the dollar tree test showed a very visable test line and the next days opk was lighter, but now I am pretty positive i am in fact getting ready to ovulate now, as i have been having o pains and some more ewcm this morning. ran out to dollar tree for opk and sure enough this one is a blazing positive. Guess I will keep :sex: for the next few days to ensure we have a good chance. We have been bd since last weekend at least every other day.

Hi i have a short lp been trying for 3 yrs. When ttc wih my son it was a normal 11 day lp. We stared ttc no 2 and conceived pretty quik but was a loss. Ever since then its been out of whack. Think i have had maybe 2 11 days but its mostly between 8 and 10. I have tried maca which seemed to.get rid of my estrogen dominence signs. A few cycles ago i tried vitwx which seemed great had a 14 day lp the next cycle it there was even more spotting and it just gradually got worse. Just started af today so makes it an 8 day cycle. Last cycle i tried 50mg of b6 this cycle was 100mg. Im doing a bit of research and selenium helps the corpus l which produced progesterone and it needs selenium. So i might try that and maybe up my b6 think max u can go is 200mg but might try 150mg. I also have some natural progesterone cream so i might give that a go too. Sadly seems vitex doesnt work for me and im hoping its not messed me up too much.

My luteal phase seems to be getting shorter, the last two months have been 8 days so this month I've started taking vitamin B complex in the hope that b6 in it might help.

Hi ladies

Hope all is going well in your ttc journey!! I am glad to see that my post is encouraging everyone to speak up and discuss supplements when ttc. I figured I would give a quick update as this is my first cycle using the B Complex vitamins. I started taking them in hopes of regulating my cycle and raising progesterone. My typical cycles range anywhere from 28-32 days with spotting for up to a week after bleeding ends. I dont usually ovulate until after cycle day 20, and I have an 11 day luteal phase, which isn't terrible, but its not great either. As I stated, I started the b vitamins this cycle with hopes for longer luteal phase and a BFP. I am currently at cycle day 18 and I am now officially in the TWW as of yesterday. I had positive opks on both cycle day 15 and 16, with ovulation pain on cycle day 16. Pretty sure that I ovulated on the 16th day bringing my ovulation forward by 5 or 6 days YAY!! My temp went from a palteau of 97.7 for three days to 98F yesterday and 98.3F this morning at 2dpo. I am praying hard that I have a beautiful BFP at the end of this tww.

Hey ladies just wanted to post a quick update from my update earlier this morning....

As I stated earlier I am almost positive that I ovulated on cycle day 16 July 3rd. I just took one more OPK to check and sure enough its most def negative now just 2 days later. Looks like I am most certainly 2dpo after all. I hope this BComplex helps with the luteal phase as it def seemed to work at bringing my ovulation forward.

pamg,

I started taking the B complex on the first day of my cycle this month. I take it every morning before work. I am now at 7 dpo and I am feeling optimistic. I ovulated on cycle day 16 instead of 21, and I typically have low body temps as Its hard for me to get a reading above 97.4 even when ill. This cycle however, I have had elevated temps since O :happydance: From O until now these are the changes that I have noticed. Hopefully it can help someone else.

Oday-Now: excess amount of white milky/creamy cm.

Oday-Now: elevated bbt started at 97.7 on O day and since then its gone up highest peak was yesterday at 99F. It's dipped this am to 98.6F but still well above coverline and higher than I am used to.

5DPO-Now: backache, and when i say backache i mean my lower back feels like i pulled a muscle although i have done nothing strenuous and sleep in the same position every night. I can only explain it as a really sore lower back localized more so on my left side where I ovulated from.

I have also noticed some pinches/pulls in lower abdomen and my boobs are a tad sensitive but nothing crazy. I have also been extremely gassy since O. Also noted on FF that I am in much higher spirits this month. Usually by this time in my cycle I am irritable and everything bothers me.

I started taking it on cd 3 & im due to ovulate this week, really hoping it helps either ovulating earlier or lengthing my luteal phase as ive been trying 10 months now!

pamg,

Fingers crossed that the b 6 helps you doll. It def has helped me. I ovulated 5 days earlier than usual while taking it. I am hopeful that this is my month seeing as my temps have remained elevated. The backache is my biggest issue right now especially since back pain is not a pre af symptom for me. If i end up pg this cycle it will have been 10 years since the birth of dd!
