Should I swap to hungry baby milk?

Hiya

My little boy is 3 weeks old tomorrow, he is taking between 4 and 5 ounces with every bottle (he was draining 4 ouncers so I make up 5 ounces so he can leave some if he needs) and has 6 bottles in 24 hours. He very often doesn't go 4 hours between feeds either. I BF my daughter past this stage so I'm wondering if he is having too much and needs to go onto a hungrier baby formula or whether he is just having a growth spurt and will level out as I remember by DD being on 5 ounces at over 2 months of age.

Sorry if I haven't really made sense, we had a bad night with him last night and Im knackered xx

personally i wouldnt swap to hungry baby unless he was at the stage where hes having 8/9oz every few hours and too young for solids. But thats me x

Yeh i personally wouldnt put him on it at only 3 weeks.. lily was a very hungry baby and was on like 6oz at 2-3 weeks and draining them but I waited til she was about 9weeks b4 I swapped her 2 hungry milk cos if u do it too early u wont be able to hold off weaning for as long.. if that makes sense x

I switched Ava at 2 weeks, but she was hungry all the time, like having 3-4oz bottles and screaming with hunger 30 mins later. If your lo is taking 6 bottles I wouldnt change over x

Cool thanks girls, I wasn't sure as with my DD she was breastfed til later but I had probs with him when he was born and didn't want to stress my self sick like last time so popped him on the bottle. Will keep him on his normal formula and just up another ounce when he's completely draining these ones x
