for me murder is wrong, so I could never be in favour of the death penalty, nobody should be allowed to say who lives or not, reducing yourself to the level of the criminal makes you no better.
I find people really disturbing, whenever a terrible crime/murder is committed you'll get stream and streams of people writing down really vivid forms of punishment and cruelty they would inflict on the perpetrator, and we wonder how people are capable of doing them when so many are capable of not only thinking them but taking joy in sharing their grotesque ideas with others.
really? this is ridculous! so just because the victims or people that are sickened by these murderers actions, are in favor of the death penalty, WE are the "grotesque" ones? what happenned to the murderer in all this? all of a sudden we are worse then them? look, its plain and simple, a person who murders another person with premeditation, deserves to die!
For those who are saying there was no 'digs at people' this is what we are referring too...Vanilla's post, which Meli felt offended by...as I am sure it was written with that intention.
I do believe in the death penalty, and I also believe in killing someone who attempts to enter my home uninvited, or attempts to harm my friends/family. Quite simply, I do not see the point of allowing someone to live in prison for 60 years (or more!) because the death penalty is "cruel". I guess I'm selfish, I'd rather see my tax dollars go to helping victims recover, feed the homeless, build better schools, etc. than go to feed and care for someone who is on death row.
I'm not meaning it in the sense if it was personal i.e if they had killed or harmed your child/family.
i am talking about this as a subject as a whole.....in general would you admistrate the lethal injection to a someone who hasnt attacked you in anyway personally but is on death row for a crime?
Prison wardens do it. Call me harsh, but it's just pushing a button.

So where does the responsibility lie? That kind of dissociation is the problem.

It lies with the court that convicted the criminal. The legal system is responsible.
