Hi, I am so confused and hoping someone can give me some advice!!
I had a m/c on 14th Feb, but I wasn't able to take the medication to induce the m/c until the 27th Feb. It has been nearly 4 weeks since the procedure and following the doctor’s request, albeit a week late I took a pregnancy test and it was positive. I have since taken additional test and they too are positive and a digi test has said I am 2-3 weeks pregnant.
Because everyone is different I don't feel confident putting it down to lingering hormones, but at the same time I can't say with certainty that I am pregnant again. Has anyone else found they fell really quickly following a m/c? Did the doctors carry out blood tests or scans to determine if it was a new pregnancy? Any tips for keeping your sanity?!?

My hcg lingered for 11 weeks it was so horrible those 3 months. Instead of not knowing have your doc send you for repeat bloods...if they go up most likely it's a new pregnancy...

I got 1-2 weeks with a level of 2....so yea not a big fan of clearblue digital!

Are your lines getting lighter or darker? If they are getting darker, then it's possible this is a new pregnancy. As for the 2-3 weeks on the digi, those can be highly inaccurate so I would go by that. Really, the only way to know what is for sure going on is to go to the dr and have two quantitative hCG levels done a few days apart. That would tell you if your levels are going up or down. At 4 weeks it is possible this is just lingering hCG from your miscarriage. It's taken me 3 weeks for my hCG to go back to 0 but I know there are plenty of women who have seen it take longer. It's also possible this is a new pregnancy. I'm currently 24 weeks pg and I found out about this baby just five weeks after my last miscarriage. So anything really can happen.

I had medical management on 1 Feb for MMC(would have been 12 or 13 weeks, baby died at 6). Got BFN on 9 Feb and got BFP on 5 March. We were not trying, and purposely avoided ovulation. I wasn't sure if we perhaps were using more sensitive tests than the hospital and it was still miscarriage hormones.

I rang the EPU and they booked me in for a scan at what would be 6-7 weeks so its more likely to see heartbeat. You are unlikely to see anything before 5 weeks at the earliest. Up to that it was just a waiting game on whether AF came or not. In the UK you are very unlikely to get blood tests unless they suspect ectopic as they are expensive and they do not change the outcome. My scan showed me at about 5.5 weeks. I don't think I could be any earlier that 6+1 so I am booked for a rescan in 10 days. its just a waiting game at this stage I am afraid. You definitely could be pregnant, but equally it could just be hormones.

They do t check to ensure you have been completely cleaned out. Y blood or scan? Seems very risky to me.

Oh yeah, of course they checked! I was scanned after both stages of medical management, scanned again when I got my BFN on 9 Feb and scanned a week later. They were very thorough.

Just keep an eye on it and be an advocate for yourself is the best advice I could give, I had 4 scans saying all clear and found a stubborn piece of placenta left (after acupuncture helped me as modern medicine wasn't able to)!

Did they scan you? Did they think you are newly pregnant?

Yes its a new pregnancy. Both sacs are there and the start of the fetal pole. I could see myself its completely different to the last scans. All that was left then was a thickened lining, well below their limits for a D & C. Just have to get rescanned after a 10 day period and hopefully see a heartbeat.

Congrats, if there is no heart beat at the next scan you will give it another 10 days since you are not certain on your days? This is very exciting news!!

Yes I wont be rushing into anything. Last time I was certain of my dates and knew that things werent ok. This time I know when I got a positive opk so have a rough idea of ovulation date. but have read that some people cant see heart beats until 8 or 9 weeks. I also have a tilted uterus which i believe makes it hard to see too.

exciting times but also very nerve racking.
