I'm not saying we are btw, but where would I stand, would i be entitled to any benefits or help with housing? I assume not, but would like to confirm that. We are married and the mortgage is in joint names.

If the house is mortgaged, you won't get any help

You will be entitled to income support (if you are unemployed and have no other income), and child tax credits though

He has a legal obligation to pay maintenance for his children too - so either you agree that between yourselves and it is agreed during the divorce, or you pursue him through csa
