Im seriously confused, next year i will have two children so havwe based working out benefits on having two children as i will apply next year.

When i work i earn £15500 and my boyfriend earns £20,000 but i am and will be on maternity leave so dont think it bases it on my wage.

Anyway this is what it says im entitled to which i think is ridiculus-- (i defo put all the correct info in as did it 3 times )

Child tax credits £114.94 per week

Working tax credit £89.88 per week

Child benefit £33.70 per week

Maternity pay £135 per week

plus my partners wage

surely this cannot be right?? thats far to much

At the moment we have 1 child and are only entitled to £3 child tax credit per week so how can it possibly change this much --- headache!!

Anyone know the best way to fing out correct info? This was on gov website

Hi. I can't say if it's right or not but remember that your income on maternity leave is based on the amount of maternity pay but your normal working hours. Working tax credit is paid based on the number of hours a week you work with a premium if that is more than 30. So your earnings will be less but your working hours the same. Does that make sense?
