Softcup friends next month?

Where are you getting them in Canada Tami? Did you order online? I see diva cups in shops but not sure if they're the same deal.


Just found out that DH has slow swimmers. I'm thinking the softcups could help... does anyone know anything about that?

I usually just lie there for awhile and have DH do everything if I need anything. I had trouble putting them in and getting them out when I tried them for AF before.

I haven't bought them yet but I keep on hearing shoppers drug mart holds them. If not then walmart. Waiting for payday tomorrow to go check it out

ive ordered some from amazon and im waiting for them to arrive... i might now make it in time for this cycle as im currently on cd 13 and my CBFM says im 'high' now altho hasnt hit 'peak' yet so if they arrive tomorrow then we may be in luck...

everyone has a different way of using them by the sounds of things... the reason im considering it is because i fear that my DB isnt quite making the distance... i dont think its getting far enough in.... so someone told me they got preg by getting their OH to do the deed himself into the softcup and then insert it trying to retain as much as possible in (it can be tricky apparently...) alternatively you can DTD, preferably on your back, legs in air afterwards and then insert the softcup.... some use preseed or conceive plus before either of these options and some even put preseed in the cup before their OH put his contribution in.... ;o)

i think im going to try the second option for now... so we can try and keep the actual BDing part as normal and 'procedure free' as possible (and then just pop one in afterwards...) if that doesnt work then we can always resort to the other option as well.

if anything its a way of passing time until our next appointment with FS in october...

I just bought mine yesterday. I'm a little iffy on trying to get them in and out tho. I heard if you rub preseed on them they go in a little easier :-/

i received my softcups yesterday and used them last night and tonight... they were really easy to insert after we dtd... i used conceive plus 10 mins before we started and then afterwards it was really easy to put the softcup in... the instructions say to ensure you push it in a downwards and back motion to ensure it slips over the back of the cervix... and it just kinda pops in... you cant feel it at all... i battled to get it out this morning but got it on the third attempt...
i am quite excited about this month now... :0)

You ladies still on here? its been a few days... I am looking for some softcup/pre seed buds too! This will be my first cycle trying pre-seed although I did softcups last month... I find them fairly easy to use... fingers crossed!

Hello, getting on really well with pre-seed, its no bother to use and good to be able to use 10-15 mins before so that it doesnt spoil the moment!

Got into a terrible mess with softcups however! Tried for the first time last night and ended up rolling around on the bed laughing with DP as the bloomin thing pinged about, not as 'soft' as I thought! But, not a quitter so we'll try again tonight

LOL...still waiting to try them over here....i'm only on CD 10. The OPKs i ordered got lost in the mail so the company had to resend them. I'm really hoping they will be here in tomorrow's mail!

Hey blucky... im still on here.... stuck in the 2ww now... this was my first month trying softcups along with a little Conceive Plus lube for extra luck so we'll see how this month turns out. Didnt find them hard to use at all although the first time i had to remove it i battled a bit...think i've got the hang of it now!

where are you in your cycle? im due AF next week towards the end (im anything from 24-31 days so anytime from sunday really but if I say the end of the week then I wont start getting panicky if I havent had AF earlier in the week...)

I really hope this is my lucky month... fingers crossed xx

I've bought soft cups (found them in Boots UK ladies) and I'm going to be giving them a go this time along with conceive plus. How long after DTD to you keep them in for and do you still have to keep your legs in the air afterwards?

Good luck and keep us posted! I'm going for another attempt tonight (had friends staying last night so quiet BDing without softcups hitting the wall). I hope I can get the hang of it as the thought of not worrying about losing it all will be quite nice!

You really made me chuckle when you said it pinged out... I had images of you like a tennis ball machine, legs akimbo ... Lol....

I just held mine with the soft bit hanging done the pinched the sides together (like I was holding a biscuit) and then pushed til it was most of the way in and without releasing pressure used my index finger to guide it back and down... And then it just kinda pinged open inside of me and that was it, couldn't feel anything...

Last night (Wednesday) was the first time I've used a softcup. It was a lot easier to get in than I was expecting, but I took it out after only an hour and a half. I know this is dumb, but I was really worried because I've read so many horror stories about women having lots of trouble getting them out. I didn't want to be up getting ready for work at 5am trying to unwedge a softcup

Do you think that was long enough to get any benefit from it at all? I used some preseed in it and on it as well...

In Canada...Shoppers Drug Mart sells them...6 for $4.99. They are in a small pink box...called "Soft Cups"...in tampon aisle. I found them very easy to use...its my first month..no problemos so far
