Hi, does anyone have any tips on teaching a toddler to come DOWN the stairs? My little one is very apt at getting up them but I want to try to show him how to get down safely. I keep trying with us both comming down on our bums but wondered if there was any other way to teach him. He's 21 months.

I hold Dec hand and he walks beside me, we have been doing this for about 2 months now and he can sort of come down the small flight by himself now (about 6 steps) He is 16 months xx

I still hold Charlie's hand when he comes down the stairs. It's very rarely that he'll do it by himself, but when he does, he just holds the banister now he can reach it.

My son crawls up the stairs but pbviously in months to come il have to start teaching how to get down them

i think the idea of him being beside you holdin his hand sounds the best way IMO x
