When I put the powder in, the steam from the water makes the powder stick to the scoop!!

its not an entire scoop that goes in, cuz most of its stuck!! I have to use a diff scoop for every bottle. Grrr!!!

let the water cool lol.....we always used the nursery water in the gallon jugs or pre boiled water and put it in a container that way when you need it you can just pour it into the bottle.

This always drives me mad! I have a little moan about it with every bottle!!!!! X

I use a sterilised plastic medicine spoon to scrape the feed from the scoop between each bottle. Works for us - it's the perfect shape. You're right though about it being irritating!

cow and gate was the worst for this...
I just put the powder in the bottle, measure the water in another bottle, same brand of bottle and pour it in.....

Drives me mad too. I guess you could just wipe the scoop out with a kitchen towel, as the powder is not sterile anyway until it hits the water.
I have started to measure the scoops into the powder dispenser pots and the pour them in. Works much better.

DH fills 3 formula dispensers each with 3 so it's enough powder for 9 bottles when one runs out he washes it and lets it dry to re-fill later. He finds it easier than using the scoop.

I thought I only had this problem, I was starting to think I was doing something wrong with the scoop lol, I have no idea what to do! I think I might do what you do mrsrabbit and buy powder dispensers :flower:

i use the powder pots, not because of the steam issue... Because i always lose count - i only have to count to 6

I found it stuck a lot less if I waited the full 30 mins before making up the bottles.

When it did get too clogged up I'd either rinse it with water from the kettle and give it a shake or stir the bottle with it. I figured if it's clean enough to go in the powder, it's clean enough to go in the hot bottle

Does my head in too!

What I do now is clean and sterilise my six bottles. Put the powder (5scoops in each) into 5 empty sterilised bottles and use the 6th sterilised bottle to measure out 150ml and pour that into each of the other bottles. Totally solves the problem.

Hee hee!
I use the powder pots too - thought I was being really ingenious at the time! Its my secret helpful tip for other mothers....

Mine is a big drinker now, and only 6 scoops fit in, so I have to lob the seventh in and risk the steam all the same.

..... also, I too lose count, or get distracted too easily!
