Stop been so cheap!

Ok we're all getting a bit excited here. Shall we have a cup of tea and a sit down?

A cup of tea! What an awesome idea. Ill DH to get up and make me one hehe xx

Ah goodo cos I really need to get my shit together and get ready for my school reunion later, and I'm too busy on here! Did I really leave 22 ys ago?? OMG.

AOB love your avatar piccie!! Leni is gorgeous x

I believe the NHS are pretty good at giving scans. Everytime I've had a bleed they have scanned me when they probably didnt have to if the trace was good.

I definately do appreciate the NHS. My son was really poorly in HDU and was in for 5 days, almost dying, he had one to 3 care and I know if we had to pay for that we would never have afforded it. He then went into cardiac arrest at home and we called an ambulance who tried to recussitate him, took us to a&e who also tried lots of ways to bring him back but were unsuccessful  I dread to think how on earth we would have paid for all of this, especially when you have a funeral etc to pay for.

some people have bad experiences with NHS but in an overall look they do a pretty good job for most! xxx

Mines a coffee :p

For the record though and at the risk of sounding school yardish the FIRST "personal attack" was directed at me with the hormonal comment!!!
I could add much more to this but I won't - I'll just have my cuppa with Phinners and sit in shock over how long it is since we were at school!!

Am I P? :)

Come and have a cuppa with me, but be warned I'm half in the bath right now and you may have to help me out so drink it quick haha

I only have tea leaves though, I dont do tea bags unless its 4am when I'm poaching around the house.

I think we are all a little hormonal, thats usually brought up when any thread gets a little heated.....i dont think she was trying to be rude. The fact is its true, for all of us (not just you) :) xo

I can't say i agree one bit with this thread!!

I have a terminal illness which meant i had 11 scans on the NHS, because MY daughter was at risk, she had to have a scan on her heart when i was 25 weeks pregnant, luckily ALL was fine with her but because of my health i needed the extra scans. And you lot are complaining that you don't get scans for no reason?! I also had 5 bleeds, which meant i needed a few more scans. People like me, and many others, need these scans.... so why should the NHS fork out so you lot can see your baby a few extra times...all i can say is, put your hand in your pocket!!

Honestly, threads like this get me wound up!

We're not complaining, only the original poster was.

My post is aiming at the people complaining about the NHS being so 'crap'!!

I'm not going to mention any more on the matter from my perspective but as detailed in my previous posts I have my reasons for not being happy with the NHS but I'm glad you and others have received good care

Yeah, I meant you :) I feel your pain with the bath too - I got stuck the other night so just holler if you need a hand ;)

Shan - with the greatest of respect I'm sure the poster who my "words" are with can speak for herself and that she or the thread for the matter doesn't need you to be jumping in being argumentative! Despite many differences of opinion it has managed to go quite well up until this morning!!!

[bold] the poster who has just jumped in and had a go at "us lot" [/bold] - did you even read this thread before you commented on "us lot" wanting more scans???

I've just sat here are read every page on the thread

I understand the people who have their reasons for disagreeing with the NHS, and i agree with you on that

I'm aiming my post at the people who have complained about the amount of scans that are offered (12 and 20 weeks)... the people who've had a perfectly fine pregnancy so far, yet still expect extra scans!

Oh sorry didnt realise i had no right to post here, my bad.

I did post my opinion earlier on, so havent just posted on the last couple of pages

Just continue being argumentitive then forgodsake as clearly the rules dont apply to you, thats the only problem with this thread.

The NHS should get their hand out their pockets ...

My point?

well in some countrys you get a scan every 4 weeks... here you get 2 or 3 max and thats your lot (unless they have concerns) instead what do they do here...use such a stupid inacurate device of measuring your fundal height and relying on that for babys growth... well im sorry but half the midwifes ive come across either measure diff/wrong to one another... or just did it briefly and ended up with a meh itl be reet attitude then the others turn around and go "ooooh we will keep an eye on that" :dohh: majority of the time there is nothing wrong with babys size!!! how can they possibly rely on this!?!?!? if baby has his bum stuck up then obvs the fundal height is going to be higher!!! it just seems to me instead of been so cheap they should be offering a scan to check growth etc every 4 weeks!!! not just that but to make sure there is no further problems with placenta/cord or baby! and to check fluid!...

anyone else agree?

Sorry but no, I dont - you have ALL your healthcare needs taken care off for either free or a small deduction from your wages - how many "other countries" can say that?

Point us in the direction that says the fundal measrements / doppler tests / usual checks put babies at risk and I may be inclined to think again.

Ok, the NHS isnt infallible but I would take it over many, if not most other systems any day of the week and too many "Brits" arent thankful for what is available to us.

This is exactly what i agree with, i'm finding it hard to word what i mean!!

Some people are just so god damn ungrateful!
