stop b'feeding

my lo is 2 years old last month and i want to stop b'feeding. a few months ago when we went to my mom's house he was getting less and less boobies, only once or twice a day but as soon as we got back to our new home he's really clingy to me again and i find it's hard to stop because i use this to put him to sleep since he was 7 months old.

any advice?

How long ago did you move to your new home? Is it worth letting yourselves settle in before attempting to stop?
I'd personally get a wee 'plan of action' together. I'd stop offering the breast during the day, but still offer lots of cuddles.
What about a new relaxing routine for bedtime like bath, story(maybe a new book would help) , lullabye, kiss good night?
Could a nice big boy cup be swapped for boobies? Does he have a favourite colour or cartoon/story character that could be incorporated?

The Kellymom site has some great gentle weaning tips. The dont offer dont refuse method is a start; as is having rules "we only BF on this chair/at this time/ for the length of the alphabet song".

I would only let him BF at certain times of the day to start. Say no. There may be some tears. Offer to snuggle or do soemthing during that time, so he still gets mommy time. Then keep reducing. I would do nights last as they are the hardest.

we moved here 6 months ago but it's on the island and we 've been there and here in town all the time too so i think he's getting confused or something..

i tried not to give him boobies during the day before but he got really upset and cried. i know if there's other people around to play with him and distract him from me it would help, but now there's no one

he doesn;t really have favourite cartoon or character that would comfort him but he likes singing the songs with me, the problem is when we stop singing he just grabs my top and helps himself for it,lol

Can you start with just one feed, or only let him have the boob at certain times of the day rather than just say no for the entire day? It might be too much for him for now.
