stupid question but whats a Endocrinologist?

okay ladies this might sound stupid but i am not sure what an endocrinologist is we're already seeing a Reproductive Endocrinologist but what is an endocrinologist and why would i need to see one when already got an RE??? sorry just got sent a letter saying i have been refered to endocrinology department at my local hospital and they will aim to see all pacients within 12weeks...

i am not really sure why i need to see one at all and what they are actually used for. says i am seeing a specialist?

sorry i know this all might sound sooo stupid but i am little confused and little worried.

An endocrinologist looks at the endocrine system, which is different glands producing different hormones. My husband has had to see one because his testosterone levels are very low. I imagine they will be wanting to check that none of your hormones are too low or too high as this may affect your conception chances.

As for why you see both .. just found this

i don't actually think the endocrinologist i am seeing has anything to do with our RE tbh. but i am wondering if it was to do with my neurologist as they suspected i had a tumour in my head but now they thought it was breast related (long story)
