Hi

At what age did you give your LO sultanas/ raisins? Did you wait till they had refined their pincer action?

Thanks

I was reading something yesterday that said you shouldn't give dried fruits (which raisins are) as a weaning food. Something to do with the high concentrated sugar content in dried fruits (even though it's a good kind of sugar) not being processed easily by their little digestive systems.

I think it makes sense to limit dried fruit as sugar is sugar, whether it is naturally occurring or added sugar.

Personally I think we'll give Ruby raisins occasionally, like you said, when she has a good pincer grip (which is anything between 6 and 9 months from what I've read).

I'm going to start getting those little boxes of raisins to take with me when I'm out, just as another snack food if Dylan gets hungry. Not often due to the sugar content, but now and again.

I gave them to my LO for the 1st time when he turned 12months old...xx
