Summer Lovin'...bring us some babies!

I just picked up the BCPs!! I start tonight, take the last one on Aug 1st and go in for a scan on Aug 5th (I fly back in on the 4th - so this is the timing that I wanted!!) I have to pay by Monday - so that will be a little tough - but we had it saved up - but yikes $12K is the biggest check I have ever written!

My IUIs ran about $700 for the cycle - they just charged me a lump sum - so I am not sure of the breakdown.

Exciting moni! Now you know you'll for sure be cyst free! Do you know when you start your injections or does that depend on the scan/follicle size? Must feel really good to have a timeline with your next steps!

My husband says he has a good feeling about tomorrow's test...

The insurance coverage def needs to catch on! I knew about the states & knew I wasn't one of them. No offense meant when I say this, but I live in a God's Plan state. I don't think they believe in anything outside the box.

Sarah - Each doc is different, so yours could be cheaper than mine. The follistim is a follicle stimulating hormone. That is what caused me to have 3-4 mature follicles rather than just 1. I think it is sort of a next step or a more aggressive step.

Be sure to tell your dr you are paying cash for the appts...they usually offer a cash price.

The good thing about follistim is you get so much in a vile. So I have only had to buy 2 for my 3 cycles & never had to use the ovulation delay drug. I think they made me buy it just in case. So each cycle my drug bill are less expensive. Which is another reason I will do one more IUI...I already have the meds except trigger. Now that I think about it, my trigger may have only been $80.

Gotcha, Beagle! So do you know from the start that you are going to use it, or is it just if you don't have enough/large enough follicles when you see them on an u/s? Sorry so many questions! I think in my case, since I got 3 follicles with Clomid I wouldn't want to risk more in case several of them fertilized. Yeah, my trigger was around $90...Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy (their mail order division) had some kind of "plan" I paid a little for and it made it a discounted rate.

Oh, and great news Sarahok! Now you can have a perfect dinner party with no stress! Haha hubby can have a nap for sure. You're making a baby on Saturday!!!

Wow! I love the thought of that! I had just thought "I'm having IUI Saturday." But "making a baby" sounds so much better!!:happydance: Thanks for your encouragement!

Savvy, glad you're doing well! Always glad to hear from you...you're our shining ray of hope haha!!

Floridasian...sounds like you've got a great plan in place! I'm really glad you're getting to move forward! Yay!

Moni...IVF! Woohoo!! Wow...that is a big check. Sucks, but I think I would pay a million for a baby if I had it! It will all be so worth it!

Jen and Beagle, your symptoms are making me soooo excited! :D

Man I wish they would make insurance cover fertility stuff. I understand, to a degree, why they won't, as some of it is really expensive and is essentially " optional".
But in my opinion, we are doing drugs/clomid/iui/etc because our bodies aren't working right! It's a medical issue, not a cosmetic issue like getting our nose shrunk or something.
I think it's wrong that insurance doesn't have to help pay. :(

~ end rant

I have a hard time keeping up with all the posts, but I did read them all!

Beagle and Jen, your symptoms are sounding promising. :)

After taking this Provera though and having all the symptoms in the book I'm almost to the point of thinking when I get to the TWW of saying everything is a progesterone symptom (since it would be), and that symptom or no symptom can't really tell for sure if it's a BFP or not without testing.
It's rather frustrating that there isn't a more sure-fire way of knowing especially with having to wait two whole weeks!

AFM, started spotting red today(that's a huge diff as it's always brown), but it faded off. My temperature was still really high this morning so I'm hoping it'll take a nosedive tomorrow and get Day 1 kicking in!

I just take the follistim. First cycle only one egg so they upped my dose. I was so nervous about over stimulating. But ended up being just right.

Test still negative :(

Wow minuet - you have really long cycles! That must be frustrating! While I worry about ovulating too early and possibly going into premature ovarian failure there are people on the other end of the spectrum with PCOS and super long cycles. I guess we all have our battles to fight! But I believe we will all win one day! :)

Thanks for the explanation, Beagle. Sorry for the negative :( I was hoping you would get your + this morning.

I am trying to get back in a positive mind frame. But I read online 15 dpo is the best testing day. And 99% of women get a positive by 18 dpo (I think). So who knows, right? My husband is staying optimistic & says it is coming in the next few days.

I also just walked to the store...basically the end of the shopping center where I work...not far & I have done this before. Well on the way back, it felt like I had gone for a jog...cramps in my gut...weird...probably me reading in to things.

Eagle I was looking for your bfn today too. I do keep reading about women who don't get their bfp until later than normal so I'm still holding out for you!

Cd1 is officially today, so that means I start clomid Friday night. Getting nervous and excited!

Yeah, it's definitely still early to be getting too discouraged, Beagle. So many people don't get their BFP until later...but I totally understand your frustration. It's like "Hello...it's called the TWO week wait!" That's painful enough without tacking a couple extra days on there!

I love/hate positivity in husbands. It's nice to hear some optimism, but sometimes I want to tell mine to get real! Like yesterday when I was going for my U/S he said, "Wouldn't it be great if you were pregnant already." I was like, "Ummm...it would be more like impossible considering I haven't ovulated yet" LOL...and he calls himself a doctor...mind blown. LMAO.

Minuet, glad you're getting on with your plan! So exciting to be starting a new step!

My banker used to say things like that. But he never wanted details so nothing he said lined up. Like I had a horrible headache from my meds (leading up to O) & he said that was a good sign. I was like if you let me tell you anything you would know how stupid you are right now. Like after any dr appt he would ask if it was good news. I should have said yes I found out today my lining has shed nicely & we can move forward with meds!

Luckily I have well educated my husband. I try not to gross him out, but now everything is a joke. He says every night not to forget my progesteroney. Then I tell him he has to put one in his ass since I have to put one in my coochie. Then he says I don't want any progesteroney! So we make fun of things. Like if he tells me to get my own drink at dinner, I say you can't talk to the woman carrying your child that way! So we are having fun with it.

Lol my husband does stuff like that too, Sarah! When I was taking the last of my provera pills he was like, "maybe you're pregnant right now!". I said that was impossible since I was forcing my body to act like it was in the second half of my cycle, and I hadn't ovulated yet. He just said "well you never know!"
Lol. He has learned a lot more about how pregnancy and women's bodies work than he probably ever wanted to! :haha:

Thank you, it is exciting, but I'm also a bundle of nerves.

On my way home I got a massive headache. It has dulled now...I think I am grasping now...but I don't get many headaches especially when not taking meds. Before O I might because of all the meds. Also keep getting pinching feeling that alternates from the left & right.

Probably another test tomorrow...

On what CD do you usually get AF Beagle?

Yes the injections should start the day of the scan - unless there is an unforeseen issue.

Beagle - FXed for you - wait until Friday to test...
