Hello all!

July is a new month...we have a group of ladies who have been following along for about 6 months. We are always looking for new folks to join our journey. We have a lot of positive vibes here...tons of support...and even more knowledge. Some are still trying naturally, some are with specialists, on clomid, femara...IUIS, IVF...lots of knowledge & experience here.

As for me, I triggered last night. I am having IUI #5 tomorrow...2 fully medicated IUI. They upped my follistim dose to increase my follicles...& guess what...IT WORKED! I had 3 at 16mm & 1 at 14mm at my scan yesterday. So I potentially have 4 about to release. I can feel it, too...very bloated feeling. I thought not so bad on side effects this time, but I am getting the start of a headache this morning. But overall, I feel good & positive. This TWW I plan to try all the tricks people talk about...pomegranate juice, pineapple core, dark chocolate. I am up for any suggestions folks have.

Anyways...please join us in our journey...I feel like July is going to be bringing us good things.

Beagle - good idea taking the day off - I always felt really crampy and bloated after the IUIs with the multiple eggs pushing there way through. Now you can curl up on the couch and let them all do there thing!! I'm feeling very optimistic for you this cycle!!

AFM - I am waiting for AF to show so I can start my first (and hopefully last) IVF cycle. I will need to be on BCP for 3 weeks before starting the IVF injectables. I am going away July 23rd - August 4th so I am hoping the timing works out that I start the injections on August 5th. I had cysts develop after my IUI cycles - and I am still waiting for the last one from my April IUI cycle to finish dissolving. Hoping I get the green light to start this month!!

Hi everyone,

Jumping over here. DH and I started the journey late July of last year (wow - it's been almost a year!) We got pregnant right after my HSG (which revealed uterine scarring) late November. The baby's heartbeat was slow to start at 6W and then finally stopped close to 9 weeks. I had a D&C the following week. Following the miscarriage, my HCG was dropped very slowly. It took almost three months to get back down to 0 and my RE was starting to suspect cancer and wanted to give me chemo. After it finally went down below 0, we found out that my uterine scarring was still there - the D&C did not remove it so I needed a hysteroscopy to remove the uterine scarring. During the surgery we also found scarring near the cervix.

After the surgery my RE wanted me to try naturally for three cycles but he wanted me to take progesterone supplements from 3 DPO to 14 DPO, even though he never tested my progesterone levels and I don't have any symptoms of low progesterone. If I don't become pregnant on my own after three cycles I'd go back for a different plan. We talked about Clomid at the time so I'll probably be put on that. I am suspecting that the progesterone supplement is making me ovulate early so I decided not to take them this cycle.

That's where I am right now. I will be calling RE's office today to make an appointment for when I think will be CD1 next week.

Can't wait for a BFP in July!!

:dust::dust::dust:

FBG, I'm sorry for your experience at your RE's office. I guess my RE is kind of like yours - I didn't get all the tests done at once. My first visit they only tested me for AMH. Two days later they tested my estradiol. Then a few weeks later it was HSG. Then a whole bunch of other tests came (prolactin, thyroid, antiphospholipid syndrome, etc) months after my miscarriage. Till this day I have never had my FSH and progesterone tested.

Luckily I am only 10 minutes away from my RE's office so I guess can insist on a test whenever I want. I know we all just want to go there and get answers right away, especially now that you've had a few losses they should take you a lot more seriously!

Argh - of course my doctor is on vacation next week so I won't get in till the week after. Looks like there'll be no Clomid next cycle either.

Is your dr in the office the rest of this week? I don't know why they can't go ahead & just give you a clomid prescription. Were you going to be monitored or just timed intercourse for another month or 2 on clomid? My gyno gave me clomid even before all our testing was complete with a 2X refill. We did 3 months timed no monitoring...then 3 months no monitoring & IUI scheduled using opks.

Maybe you won't even need the clomid...but seems like your file would show what your dr's intent was on this next cycle.

Not sure - I didn't press on because she was being so nice. The last time I was there (post-op to my hysteroscopy) there were no tests run either and he gave me several options - do nothing, use Clomid with Progesterone, Progesterone only, or do a repeat HSG. I didn't know which option to go with so I asked for his recommendation and he said he would probably do the Progesterone only for three cycles to see if I'll get pregnant on my own. If not, we'll go with a different option so it sounded to me like Clomid would be the next step.

You think I should try to go in this week so I don't waste another cycle? With only two days left this work week I doubt I'll be able to get in though.

Since you guys briefly discussed clomid, I would call the nurse & just ask if he could give you the prescription without you coming in. It's not like you are asking for major fertility meds. A 50 mg dose of clomid seems pretty standard from what I have read. Worse case, the nurse says no & you are no worse than where you are now.

Oh & also mention where you are in your cycle & stress you do not want another wasted cycle because the timing didn't work around your dr's vacation. I think it is worth a shot.

Hi ladies  Can I join you?
I am 26 soon to be 27 and my period is irregular. The OBGYN told me it can be difficult but to come back after a year of trying. He didn't want to run any tests yet but saw some cysts. So here we are on cd 3 of our 3d cycle ttc #1

Welcome Magrat...I hope you get your positive before having to go back to your dr. This can be a crazy journey & gets crazier the longer you are in it! Trying naturally for a year before getting help is pretty typical for someone your age.

Good luck!

Hey ladies... May I join you? On CD2. We have been TTC for a year now. AF was always regular up until we started ttc. Then it got kind of eratic. I went 5 months with no AF, and after a blood tests and all hormones and levels coming back normal, my doc decided it must be PCOS. Been on Metformin for almost 2 months. Although not quite regular, AF is atleast coming monthly, even if it is around 40 days.... CD1 was on my birthday.... Hoping for the best for this year and this cycle. Got my OPKs and BBT ready, and can see the baby dust floating around. Fingers crossed that July is the month!

Welcome...
babylaw - same thing happened to me re irregular cycles after trying...it really messes with your head huh?

Absolutely messes with my head, especially when I was regular for so long until of course when we started TTC. Crossing my fingers for July

Thanks beaglemom! I don't want to wait that long. Maybe 6-8 months and then I'll want some tests. Fingers crossed for all of us :dust:
Babylaw long cycles suck. Mine can be 38 and then 25 and then 40

Welcome Magrat & Babylaw!

I'm also irregular with cycles ranging from 30 to 47 days. TTC without success is bad enough without needing irregular cycles to mess with our heads isn't it? I started Clomid this cycle due to irregular and possible annovulatory cycles.
I hope we all get our BFP's this month! Fx'ddd!

Mine range from 20-49 and waiting for o is quite frustrating. However, I'm optimistic about that summer. I like the name of the thread :)

Hopping over from the other thread. Welcome to our new girls!

beagle, GL on your IUI today! And hi to all our other girls!

To introduce myself to the new girls, I've been TTC for about 19 months, with one pregnancy that ended in m/c. Started seeing an RE in April, did two IUIs, and decided to just move onto IVF. There is nothing wrong w/ me or DH. All tests have come back fine. I'm an early ovulater without meds, so its possible my eggs weren't mature enough in the beginning, but that was just a guess. And I may have had a minor blockage in right tube during the first 14 months of TTC since HSG showed the dye wouldn't go through until Dr put more pressure on. But my RE said there's no way to know for sure, as it could've just been a spasm. So besides speculation, there is no other explanation. So w/ that said, we decided not to waste anymore time, and I'm now in the thick of IVF as we speak.

My egg retrieval went great yesterday, with 20 eggs retrieved. I'm waiting for a call this morning to let us know how many fertilized. I'm scheduled for a 3-day transfer for this Friday, but they may call Fri morning and decide to do a 5-day transfer. We're transferring two embryos, with the hopes that at least one will stick, but we'd be thrilled if both stick! :)

This is so exciting Erin! This is actually happening. I feel excited and happy for you! I always feel that way when I see one of us succeeding or get PG. Keep us posted on how many eggs were fertilized ok? Fx'ddd!!!

Coming over to the new thread!

How did it go today beagle?

20 eggs retrieved it great!! I don't know much about IVF but that sounds great! Please let us know how many fertilized!

Hello to everyone else!

A little about myself, dh and I have been ttc on and off (ntnp) for 5 years. Many of my opks never turned + and crazy cycles. I have had 1 chemical pregnancy before trying clomid which didn't work. Tried again on our own for a while but nothing. So went to RE. Did hsg which showed my right tube was blocked. Did 4 months of femara/letrozole and 2 IUIs (because I also have hostile cervical mucus) which all ended in bfns. So had surgery in April which revealed I had stage 2 endometriosis with scar tissue that had my right ovary stuck to me uterus blocking that whole side. Following month did IUI again but failed. So dh and I decided to take a little break from the RE appointments and we are just doing femara. I also suspect that I have pcos which I have been thinking about getting diagnosed. Dh also have low sperm count. Have never seen it more that 20m.

Hey guys...sorry for the late update...not feeling so great today.

So after my husband gave his sample, we waited about an hour...during that time I started cramping & felt slightly sick to my stomach. So we go back for the IUI & the dr came in. There are 3 drs there...this one was not my dr. So when he came in, I knew there was a problem. Problem was the post wash count was 1/2 million. Very devastating. As we sat there I knew at least we had 2 eggs dropping at least because of how I was feeling. We did the IUI after talking with him. He was basically in there to find out if I wanted to do another IUI next time or IVF. I was kind of annoyed because I would have rather been talking to my dr. But he was nice & this IUI was the least painful of all...I barely felt it. Afterwards I dropped my husband at work & shopped some in his store. But I felt horrible. I could barely walk. So I got the few things I needed, headed home & have basically been on the couch ever since. I just went out to take my kitty in for a check up & felt better. So now my only hope is that all 4 follies dropped. But the way I am feeling, I am sure at least 2 did...& I felt most of it on the right side which had 3 if I remember correctly. So now I am finally eating lunch...haven't felt like getting up until now.

So now I start my TWW process & hope we can get a fertilization. And I guess I need to think about what to do if we are not successful. I think I will still do 1 more. I will only need the trigger because I have enough meds left over & pay for my visits. Another $1,000 in the bucket at this point is nothing...especially if the next step is IVF.
