Sure start maternity grant...

Yeah I'll be the main carer, ah that's good, and actually makes sense!

Am hoping the boyfriend will sort out his ways a little when the baby comes, but as I'll be living off just MA and after that, even lower wages, it's good to know that I'll be able to buy everything for the baby, and healthy food for me (as I'm breastfeeding). With the surestart grant, child benefit, and the child tax credits, this is the first time this pregnancy I've thought "wow, we will actually get by" I might actually open a new account, just in my name as b/f has terrible credit, but then get all the baby's money paid into that.

Yeah theres lots of help out there.
I'm sure your boyfriend will sort himself out when he meets his little girl.

Fingers crossed! Hopefully it'll be alright. It's just the terrible concoction of someone who is too tight with money (me) and someone who is too loose with it (boyfriend). It didn't matter before because it didn't effect me, it was a mild irritation if he was in debt or if he couldn't afford this that or the other. But now there's a baby involved, all of a sudden I'm terrified and watching every penny he's spending. It's getting the balance between him calming down his spending and learning to prioritize and me chilling out a bit!

Yeah its alot of big changes when a baby comes i guess you just have to be sensible, get as much help as you can and try not to worry. I panic so much about money but thankfully hubby is great with it!
