Hey Ladies and Gentleman

I need to do a survey for a Tourism 12 project and was wondering if you could help me out!


Here are the Questions

- Where have you travelled to? Pick one place in particular
- What factors had the biggest influence on your choice of destinations?
(Cost, Climate, Geography, Special event, Food, Relatives/friends, Other please specify)
- What time of year did you go and why?
- How long did you stay?
- What features attracted you to that destination?
- Did someone “sell” you on this destination?
- Did you use a travel agent or make your own booking on-line?
- What kind of transportation did you use?
- What kind of accommodation did you choose?
- If you could go again would you go to the same place?
- Would you could there with your family?


If you could answer these quick and simple questions it would be very much appreciated. Short answers work well. I need 25 responses by tomorrow night!

1. States, South America, Middle East, many places in Europe, Far East, various places in Africa and Asia, Caribbean etc. Do you want a list? We have a lot of family o/s and both worked abroad for a while.
2. A variety of things, for some places we go to see family...some for history and culture...places like the Maldives, for pure relaxation!
3. Again, for our own holidays we'd go at a time we knew the weather would be nice...city breaks tend to be spring or autumn, avoiding the summer madness...family visits whenever required!
4. Anything from a couple of days (city breaks) to months (few places in Europe, South America)
5. City breaks would be history, culture, food...summer hols would be those things, but a big dollop of sun and relaxation thrown in. Then you get 'specific' holidays like skiing, where you just go to do that thing or safari etc
6. Sometimes we take recommendations!
7. Online, always

9. Generally hotels. Chalets for skiing. Now we've got our little ones, self catering Everytime
10. Some places. Yes. Definitely. Family places, of course.However, there are some places i probably wouldnt return to...for example, I loved some of the cities I've visited, but I wouldn't feel compelled to go back.
11. Again, some places. Some I am wary of gong to when the girls are little (health care etc) and some are just a bit dull for kids!

Climate, environment, lack of chavs

July/August for summer holidays and the odd times in January to get away from the cold/or go skiing

between 2 weeks to 2 months

- What features attracted you to that destination? scenery, quiet, no chavs, the weather

- Did someone “sell” you on this destination? no

- Did you use a travel agent or make your own booking on-line? online

- What kind of transportation did you use? plane, helicopter transfer, taxi

- What kind of accommodation did you choose? we usually go for a junior suite

- If you could go again would you go to the same place? yes

All of us as a family chose to go there as it looked lovely from the brochures

- What time of year did you go and why?

We went in June as it was my 21st bday

- How long did you stay?

1 week

- What features attracted you to that destination?

The area and hotel looked lovely and there was some nice places nearby to travel to

No we'd already chosen to go to this destination before we booked with the travel company

- Did you use a travel agent or make your own booking on-line?

We used a travel agent

- What kind of transportation did you use?

We went by plane, when we were out there we hired taxi's or went by coach to places

- What kind of accommodation did you choose?

A half board hotel

- If you could go again would you go to the same place?

Definitely, I loved it there

- Would you could there with your family?

I did!, definitely be somewhere i'd like to go back to when Callum was a bit older so he could enjoy it a bit more to

I'm not sure if my answers are any good because I've never been abroad but I'll answer anyway in case you can use them

Cornwall and Llandudno. I'll pick Llandudno as it was the most recent and my honeymoon
- What factors had the biggest influence on your choice of destinations?
(Cost, Climate, Geography, Special event, Food, Relatives/friends, Other please specify) It was our honeymoon and I love Llandudno so we decided to go there. I won't go abroad so we'll always holiday in the UK. It's lovely and peaceful
- What time of year did you go and why? December, it was the day after our wedding.
- How long did you stay? only 2 nights. We were both back in work on the Monday so we went for the weekend.
- What features attracted you to that destination? I love how peaceful it is. The time we went when I wasn't pregnant, we had a walk up the Great Orme and it was so fun and the views were amazing
- Did someone “sell” you on this destination? Nope
- Did you use a travel agent or make your own booking on-line? Online/phone
- What kind of transportation did you use? Car
- What kind of accommodation did you choose? 4* hotel
- If you could go again would you go to the same place? Oh definitely
- Would you could there with your family? I used to as a kid and I can't wait to take my baby girl there when she's here.

- What time of year did you go and why?: SEPTEMBER BECAUSE IT WAS STILL HOT

- What features attracted you to that destination? GOOD WEATHER ALL YEAR ROUND, BEACHES CLOSE TO HOTEL

- Did you use a travel agent or make your own booking on-line? ONLINE
- What kind of transportation did you use? PLANE, TRANSFER BY BUS
- What kind of accommodation did you choose? HOTEL (SELF CATERING)
- If you could go again would you go to the same place? NOPE, NEVER BEEN TO SAME PLACE TWICE!
