Sweet smelling urine?

Anyone else have/had sweet smelling urine? Not LO, I have had sweet smelling urine. Noticed it this morning and tried it 3 other times today so it's not just morning urine. Is it related to having been pregnant or the high blood pressure issues? My organs were fine in the hospital, passed the gestational diabetes test with flying colors... The only thing on the internet I could find was if I had out of control diabetes- I don't as of 6 weeks ago. Help please! I have my 6 week postpartum check on Tuesday and will ask there as well but starting to worry myself now.

Sorry I have no other ideas. The diabetes thing was the first thing that came to my mind too.

"Sweet" smelling urine could be a sign of ketones in your urine. Other signs of hyperglycemia are frequent urination, frequent thirst/hunger, feeling hot, and dry mucous membranes. What color is your urine? If it is dark, then your urine might be concentrated.

Or maybe it's something you ate? My urine has a very distinct odor after eating asparagus.... Sometimes B vitamins will cause a change in your urine too.

sounds like it could be diabeties to me too... sorry don't have any other ideas. Could you possibly go to your doctor? A lady I know told me that her baby sister has diabeties and from the time she was a very small baby her pee smelled very sweet she described it smelling like the juicy fruit chewing gum.

I haven't eaten anything different really since he was delivered. I eat more now though because food repelled me in pregnancy and now I'm hungry more due to expressing. I hope it's just what I've been eating. Now I have had lower abdominal cramps or pain every minute or so when awake- kinda feels like I'm going to have diarrhea but I'm going to the bathroom just fine. Sorry TMI. Ugh pregnancy has messed me up! Never been to a hospital for me since I was born. Now I've been three times! If it gets worse I'm calling first thing Monday morning when they open.

I'm popping over from third tri. I actually thought i was crazy when my pee smelled sweet (it was BEFORE i found out i was pregnant that i started smelling it).. I ALMOST went and smacked my OH ( I thought he gave me something! ) lmao but i went to the doctor for it before i jumped to any conclusions... and found outtt i was pregnant! haha.

My doctor told me it was normal and probably just my increase of smell? haha. I don't smell it like that anymore though, it was just 1st and 2nd tri. I just think maybe your smell is going haywire again? maybe?
