For various reasons, I plan to switch LO to follow on milk when she hits 6 months. It will be the same brand as her current milk, Hipp Organic. Do I need to gradually wean her onto it or can I do a straight switch?

Some people say wean onto it and others say dont bother. I would personally just do the swap. If its the same brand there wont be much difference. Babies dont actually need follow on milk if have a varied diet. Its also alot thinner x

I know she doesn't need it, but for a few reasons we are switching. We've been weaning since 4 months and she hates the taste of iron rich foods such as broccoli at the moment, so I would like her on the follow on for peace of mind if nothing else.

I'm not too bothered about it being thinner. She has gaviscon in her bottles which we currently struggle to get out of her teats even though she has the biggest teats (she has to have special bottles because of her cleft palate). So thinner + gaviscon would work fine.

Ok :) sounds good to me. Maybe have a look around the local supermarket and see whats out there. Aptamil and cow and gate are the same company and cow and gate is cheaper x

You can do a straight swap. I swapped from Aptamel 1 to Hipp follow on with no problems with DS. DD wil swap from cow and gate 1 to Hipp follow on as the ready made is the cheapest of all the brands.
