i love the tack!!!! my mum would never let us have fun, bright, tacky stuff lol it was always gold and red, and plain fairy lights!!

My way is bright and tacky though :D

i love tack at xmas, we alwasy grew up with the garlands hanging from the ceiling, i was quite subtle last year as maisie was only 11 months but this year she will be almost 2 so im going all out on the tack! xx

We have both those decorations above, they're about as old as me lol xXx

My nan does the whole red/green tacky thing. I wouldn't do it in my house but her house looks lovely at Christmas. I wish I had a picture of it all done up, all through December you actually spot people just stood in the road staring into my nan's house

You can kinda see the dining half of the living room n a bit of dangly tack but the other half with the fireplace and mirror always has big garlands on and she has these hanging things that go either side of her door frames saying noel. Arghhh I love my nans Christmas grotto. She even buys red lamps & a new red rug every christmas :cloud9:

It's not Christmas without a bit of tack! Minimalism has no place this time of year :haha:

Mark loves the shiny stuff haha he wants to hang tinsel and streamers etc.. from our ceiling and I think I will let him this year LOL just a bit.

i like classy and beautiful decorations. it makes me all happy and warm. my aunt however is totally into the tacky christmas. last year she had a PINK BLOW-UP CHRISTMAS TREE! :dohh:

We shal be a bit tacky lol Kyles got his own tree to decorate its a green tinsel tree :haha:

Got knows what colour we are going with, we went to Wilko after christmas and brought loads of sale dec's and a new tree! Although I will need to get a girly babies first christmas.

Not sure if we will have stuff hanging from the celing depends what Oh says really, I think it can be done nice but sometimes just looks horrible

if anyone has any tips on actually getting stuff to stay on the ceiling let me know!!
mine always end up falling down in the middle of eastenders or something!

At my mums we just use drawing pins pushed all the way in the celing, If you cant get it all the way in via push alone a hammer is great :haha:

No way! no tinsel, no foil ceiling decorations! I have wreaths and little stockings with coal in them and stuff but I cant stand all that tacky stuff.
