It's very quiet around here! Hope everyone is ok.

I'm back on CD1 (sigh) and it's not looking good on the referral front either. Our GP gave us our reference number and we've tried to book an appointment with either of the 2 fertility specialists at our local hospital but neither have any appointments available. We've had to leave our contact details for the hospital to call us when new appointment dates are released. Have no idea when that's going to be.

Right now getting pregnant seems such a long way away that it's bordering on the impossible. I was feeling so positive about being referred but now I have no idea how long we have to wait. I don't mind waiting but I'd like to get a date set. Stupid AF hormones are not helping!

Hi Girls-
Yes Leila-its quiet.....I think we are trying not to think too much about ttc which means not spending as much time on here.
I hope everything will get straightened out & you can see the FS soon and get some answers.
Our only know problem so far is male factor-DH quit smoking 1/3 and eating better and has been taking Fertilaid for men and also an ayervedic formula called Himalaya's Spemen. We are going to wait another 4 months or so and see if these changes do any good, and if not-off to FS for us too.

Just wondered if there's room for a newbie on your team? In the grand scheme of things I suppose I havnt been TTC too long (10 mths) but have just been diagnosed with PCOS and on first clomid cycle. In past week or so have started to check out posts in LTTC section as can identify with them a litle more!! Hope everyone is having good weekend!

Sounds like we're all a bit low with TTC right now - taking breaks etc.
I've been really busy with work so this month and Ov has kind of snuck up on me.

Leila - what's this about booking the FS online? Our dr just referred us and we waited for the appointment to come through...
We saw the FS about 6 weeks after the Dr said he was referring us....
No. actually - that's a lie. We saw a nurse at the hospital who sent us off for tests and then we saw a Dr at the hospital 3 months later who said she'd spoken to the FS and we're being referred for ICSI.
We didn't physically see a fertility specialist - just paper pushers really....

Where abouts in Kent are you? Strange how it'd be so different in the same county...

Hi girls! I am getting close to my blood test on Thursday. I've been testing to see if the trigger shot is gone (had a very faint line today, 12 days after the trigger shot). Praying it's not remnants of the shot and I have a bfp in a few days! I'll keep you posted. xx

Cazd, we're in West Kent. Our referral is for Kent & Sussex hospital. We tried to book on line but it said there were no appointments available so we called up to be told that there weren't any appointments left and we have to wait for the next set of dates to be released. They didn't say how long that would take

So frustrating.

Hi Can I join in too. Ive been TTC for over 2 years now - and Ive been flitting between the TTC and the LTTC forums for a while (Think im in denial that I belong in the LTTC section.....).

Basically a brief undate on me - started Acupuncture on the 1st Feb, just had 5th session last night, i get brown spotting for 4/5 days before AF and have done for as long as I can remember (13 years at least), been to the FS, unexplained infertility was diagnosed cos all bloods fine and DH sperm fine too. Havent been scanned for endo though which is one thing i might do soon if the acupuncture doesnt help with the spotting.

Anyway currently on CD32 (still spotting and due AF this eve or tomorrow - i can feel the witch coming).

Gonna use OPK's this month and concieve plus - and maybe even do a DIY insemination cos I bought a needless syringe.... its worth a try!

Hi rebarezzelba - welcome. I'm interested in your comment about the spotting - i have around 2 days of that before AF arrives but FS doesn't think it's a problem - have you been told otherwise?

I'm just starting the dreaded 2WW - why does it seem to go so much slower than the first half of the month?? Have realised that whilst last month i was hoping for a "love bump" now it will be a "mother's day bump"!! oh the irony! Hoping some of us will get one though.

The Dr and the FS didnt seem to think it was a problem either but alot of reading that I;ve been doing suggests I might have endo (cos I have alot of other symtpoms too like heavy, painful periods, clots, lower back pain) but I know a few people who also had the spotting and were checked for endo and they didnt have it at all - so Im just self diagnosing myself as per usual.. I should really just go to the Dr again and see what they think. Its just cos Ive been trying for ages and out of all my friends none of them ever spot and all of them got a BFP within a few months so I just think it might be a reason for me not concieving!!! who knows, Im just hoping the acupuncture can help - only going for a month so gonna give it another 2 months and if nothing then I will go back to Dr (cos acup is costing me a small fortune).

The 2WW sucks - Im still waiting for AF to rear her ugly head (onto 5th day of spotting so shes due anytime now)

Wouldnt it be great to get a BFP on mothers day - how ironic!!!!

Do either of you temp chart? That is how we figured out what to do, and it has helped in the aspect of I don't spot a few days before af, but now I tend to trail longer on the tail end of af with it.
BUT- at least my cycle went from 25-28 days!
Just a thought you girls may want to ponder about.

Thanks Premomt - I really need to go back to my DR and speak to them about this - I thought the acupuncture would help me this month (but ive only been going for 5 weeks so will give it a bit more time). Im just looking for a miracle cure for this cos its been going on a long time (over 10 years probably).

I hope you don't mind me butting on in here argh, I know I'm a bit of a fraudster on the LTTTC front it's just that I know some of you girls from the initial Lovebumps thread and now that's been deserted I'm kinda on my own . I am sorry to see that you girls have had to wait so long for a luvbump, believe me when AF hits me I have a whole bundle of self-pitty so I really admire you girls to keep on fighting.

Premomt, I'm now taking some Utrogestan (Progesterone) tablets. This is my first cycle of using them and have been doing so since cd15 so not sure how or if they'll affect me. I have my fx that it is that which has caused all the spotting but I'm on a trial period of 3 months with them, then I'm back to gynae and a referral to a FS if they haven't been successful.

The question I'd like to ask is this; for you girls that have taken progesterone meds, how long should I expect my LP to increase? I'm normally a 12 LP girl. Also do they make your boobs bigger? I swear I'm literally on 3dpo but my boobs are huge - not that I'm complaining (I'm usually quite small in that department), I just worry that they'll deflate once (or if) AF arrives.

Reba~ do you need to have acupuncture regularly? I'm considering it (if only to help me de-stress in general) but financially I can't afford to go every week. I don't know what the minimum number of sessions I should have in order to be in with a chance of it having an effect.

DH and I are VERY frustrated at the moment. Our GP has referred us to a fertility specialist but the local hospital has no appointments and can't tell us when they'll be releasing more dates. They have our details and have written to tell us that they'll contact us when there are dates available. The problem we have is that DH goes off on tour again next week until the middle of September and so we'll have to plan any appointments around his work. I should add that he's a musician, not in the forces (!) and is touring the UK so we should be able to organise something, I just want a DATE to look forward to rather than hanging around.

My boobs are always huge, so can't help you there but I can say that I take Prometrium (progesterone) and I don't usually get AF while taking it. Some people do (with a longer LP), but I have to stop the supplement once I have negative blood tests in order for to arrive.

I think for the acup to work you have to start off having it every week for maybe a month or two then cut down to every fortnight or 3 weeks. Im currently going every weeks at £80 a pop (thats £40 for session and £40 for herbs) so its not the cheapest - i actually dont even know how im affording it (ive just cut down on buying clothes and unessentials). Its very relaxing - i doze off most nights. Im really hope the herbs and the acup can help my spotting (i dont like the thought of taking any medication for it - but i suppose ive been trying for so long now I should really consider going back to the DR and asking about progesterone creams/tablets). I need to bite the bullet and call the DR... Im scared though.... I hate messing with nature. Dont want anything to totally mess up my body (seen as I do Ovulate etc normally).

You should go touring with you man.... or meet up with him every month (around ov time) in a hotel.... and DTD....
