leyla has started teething and so i have been giving her dentinox teething gel and those teething powders, neither seem to do the trick, all that seems to work is me letting her nibble on my finger

is there anything else i can do, she wont have the teething toy things and i dont know wot else to offer her, can i give her calpol? and is there anything that works wonders? shes turned into such a miserable baby the past few days and i hate seeing her like this

I personally don't like the gels, even when put in the right spot that's hurting, it can travel in their saliva and numb their throats, causing them to choke and not be able to breathe right, it happened to my friends daughter, ti was very scary.

What we used for Hayden was a teething necklace. It's made of amber and something with the warmth of their skin releases something that helps soothe their teething. It sounds crazy I know lol, but it REALLY works. We bought Hayden's right around his first bday, he had 4 teeth by then and every time one was coming in he was sooooo fussy, got a slight fever, just miserable. Since getting it he has gotten in another 8 teeth and 4 molars without so much as a whine. We seriously didn't know he was getting them in until we saw them! The thing is amazing however it works lol. They don't chew on it, so you buy it where it's small enough they can't get it in their mouth, and it's so short they can't catch it on anything. Hayden plays with his sometimes but never pulls on it, it's never been a danger at all, he wears it 24/7 and has nowfor months. We bought ours from this site

I know it used to be if you put in the code DS you got a discount, not sure if it still works.

Here is explaining how it works

yes sweetie we give maddi calpol for it, she currently has 6 coming at once so calpol has been great, we also use lots of different teethers, so maybe try a few till she finds one she likes. other than that its kinda riding it out :( do hope the tooth pops soon :hugs: x x x

thanks both of you, will try her on the calpol

i use anbesol liquid for archie rather than the gels i found he swallowed them and they didnt have any effect the liquid just soaks straight into the gums..it was only about 2 50 from boots

If you do not want to Use calpol, You can try Cloves and rub it the gums, or a Cold almost frozen washcloth; and let your baby suck on it! the cold will numd her gums.
Also try helping the teeth brake though by brusing the gums with an tooth brush.
These techniques helped me with my first 2 children, and it helped my brother with his 7kids. hope it works for you!

thanks everyone, i dont mind giving her calpol, just didnt know if it was alright

This is Hayden wearing it, so you can see about how it should fit on them as far as length

I believe his is 12in, I can't remember now for sure but I could measure it. They also have bracelets, which we had one but he doesn't wear it because being able to see it he did mess with it alot

William is the same. He does hold his teething ring and bite on it but likes to bite on my finger. I hate seeing it also as he wakes sometimes like a demon. He is slabbering everywere. I havnt tried any gels yet he isnt that bad yet but I have it all on stand by here. I do wish all teeth would come at once instead of one by one over a long period of time!

Ly is teething too, I rub dentinox gel on her gums for about a minute then pop her dummy back in and she seems to forget about the pain and enjoys the flavour of the gel lol. The dummy helps take her mind off it too. I have the powders also but they are not as easy to give her xx
