Okay, we have Thu, Jan.27 as the front-runner for our Meet An Albertan date!:happydance::happydance::happydance:
I am going to go look up possible places.
The AGO looked so good last time. I will check out their current exhibitions and see if the family art room is open that day.
I know it sounds a bit cerebral for toddlers and babies, but my rambunctious toddler has always loved exploring galleries - there's a lot to look at!
We'll be driving in from Goderich (about 3 hours, I think), so it might have to be an afternoon session. Not great for naps, I know, but not sure if that can be helped.

I can't wait to meet you guys! Start taking your immunity-boosting potions now! And let's pray for good weather. Those are the only two factors that will prevent our plans!

The science centre is another hit with toddlers usually! Right now they have a dragon exhibit we've been meaning to see.
Afternoon sounds good to me :)

Okay, here are some cool things at the AGO:

Plus basic info (hours, rates, etc):

We don't have to do this - just some food for thought.

ooooooo
going to look up dragon exhibit tout de suite!

Oh, poop!
It closes Jan.9, Chantal!
Too bad - it looked really good.
I'll look up the ROM, too.

Ontario Science Centre possibility:

Whales exhibition? Could be good.

And info for Science Centre so everyone can compare:

I'll have to talk to Stan to see where I can get to via public transit........without it being a huge mess

afternoon is fine for us, actually works better that way Miss Hannah and I can hit our music class in the morning........

And there is also the Zoo, although that may be a bit windy and cold in Jan?
I seem to recall that there is a lot of open space outside that you have to walk between exhibits. But I think I was there in like 2000?
Anyway, we can start discussing possibilities....

I thought it might be fun to do something activity-based so that kids and partners are sufficiently occupied while we gab! :)

Vickie - I will check what kind of room we have. I think we are borrowing my IL's van, so there might be room for you and Hannah. And you have a car seat, right?

you are remembering the zoo correctly  it would really depend on the weather I think

let me talk to Stan and see if he can take a day off and we can swing a car rental........

and Sarah not sure what your plans are but if you want to stay the night over you know you're welcome here, or if you want to stop here to bathe the boys, get them ready for bed before heading out :) my house is open to you

I do Sarah :) if you could pick us up that'd be great :D I'll have a talk with Stan to to see what he says in case that's not possible

I usually leave the boys dirty, Vickie. They are so much happier that way! :haha:
But I might take you up on an overnight if we get bad weather or whatnot. We were discussing the possibility of heading down the night before and staying in a hotel. It's all at the planning stage right now. :)

 Sarah so funny. Bath time is a part of Hannah's night routine though lately she's not been thrilled with it

I was thinking we have Hannah's old crib but than remembered that the mattress is on her bed so that's no good :dohh: if you have a playpen though we could put Tobes in there?

Simon and Hannah could share Hannah's room, that would be interesting as Hannah's never shared a room :haha: but once she's out she generally sleeps through just about anything.

Anyways the offer is there if you don't feel like driving or the weather turns or something :)

Huge thanks, Vickie!
That is really great to know!

I will vouch that Hannah can sleep through most for sure! :haha:

P is working on the 27th so unfortunately that day is out for me unless I can find a ride or something. Chantal offered to come get me but I'm worried that it'll be too crazy of a day to drive down to Toronto, then go to an exhibit then have to drive all the way home again? P won't get home until 7:30pm then would have to drive another hour to come and get me.

Then if Chantal drove to get me, she'd have to drive me home too? Then she's not getting home until really late either. I *could* try to spend overnight somewhere but then it'd be (again) the logistics of getting home again. :(

Sorry to be such a monkey wrench. :(

Oh darn it, didn't realize I missed the dragon exhibit :sulk: Although the whale one might be cool! The ROM is awesome too, but maybe for older kids? Never been to the AGO (was under renovation for years when I first moved here and just recently opened up again) so happy to check that out.
We're easy, anything will work for us

Tiff for sure I'd bring you back home too! N and I could both take our cars and that way he could bring Z and I'll have you and C.

Another option is for you and C to crash here (I have a pack n' play and 2 extra bedrooms) and P to come get you the next morning if he's not working the 28th? I am though so wouldn't be able to drive you back home on the Friday.
