The July 2009 Babies

Yep 5 days of unluckiness! but at the end a perfect result :cloud9:

I have a feeling Logan may be the smallest baby in the group so far, probably weighs 13lb! but now eating fruit so Im sure he will shoot up in size. I am really pleased that this group is here, but does anyone worry that their LO is not as advanced as others in the same age range? Logan isnt saying anything but some posters have mentioned that their babies have said words. I talk non-stop to him though, maybe its because he cant get a word in edgeways

Hun dont worry all babies are different Soph said her first word just after 6 months shes now just over 7 months.. Theres almost 2 months between our 2. Honestly hun dont worry just enjoy watching him develop in his own time xx

Naw, Caitlyn only speaks because I always tell her the words I want her to say  hence dada not being there

She doesn't roll but will sit up for a few minutes but I have to put her into the sitting up position.

Logan's a dot! Caitlyn just grew and grew

Also, I think boys are a little slower on their verbal milestones, but a little faster on their motor skills compared to girls. That is not always true, but just a general trend.

Otter is sitting well, eating well, rolling well, manipulating toys well -- but nowhere NEAR saying a word yet. He babbles, but doesn't even try to mimic me when I talk and try to get him to say something like "mama" or "dada."

Don't worry about Logan one bit! :hugs:

Same as Logan, he doesnt mimic but likes to be joined in his conversation, he says something then looks at you for a response, which is rather cute. He is ace on his front and rolls all over the place. He needs help sitting, leaning on a cushion, but I think once he puts on a bit more weight he will be less top-heavy

hi all, my LO should have been a june baby originally but she had other ideas and made me wait till 2 july, she was 7lb 12 born and is now 16lb 10 oz, she is mainly breastfed still but is having one bottle of formula a day and is also having 3 small meals a day, she's not fussy when it comes to food and if its from our plate then its even better lol
she has just started crawling comando/bunny hop stylee, and also babbles mama dada and baba, hope you dont mind me joining this group x x x

I know how you feel wondering if your baby is under developed etc
My Ollie is almost 7 months and only weighs almost 16lb then i start to compare him to other babies around the same age and that makes me worry sick
I talk non stop to him and he just laughs at me but is so keen to sit up just can't keep his balance at the mo

Hi all!

Hope I can join here - Emma was born 29th June, but I was due 19th July & only had her in June because I was induced....would have been July otherwise! Plus...I can't find a June group, LOL!!

xxxx

Welcome! The July mummies are the most friendly, lol :)

Long time since I've been on this forum, glad I found this.

My 7-11 at 8lbs 6 oz. He is now 18 lbs, and usually a quiet and content baby (I really lucked out).

Welcome Godivalocks! Glad to hear your LO is going well. Is your OH at home atm or away?

Let's get some chatter going in this thread. I'd love to hear how everyone is going with weaning and how many milk feeds your bubs are having. Also how they are sleeping etc. so we can share tips/advice.

Max has two meals (we started at Christmas with just cereal, now he has veg/fruit as well, about to start protein). His milk feeds are kind of irregular(still :( ) but about 3-4 breastfeeds and 2 formula bottles. He stopped sleeping through at 4 months and is actually getting worse! He wakes 1-3 times a night and we have trouble resettling him without feeding him so we are just introducing at 10.30pm dreamfeed to see if that helps. My midwife says I need to cut him off at night and stop feeding him but I'm still just hoping he'll stop on his own. Any advice welcome!

Caitlyn has 2 meals a day breakfast and lunch. She hates fish :haha:

She's not slept through yet. Always wakes up at 12 and 5 :dohh: no fun...so yes advice please ladies!!

Otter is doing BLW and on 3 meals per day now... well mostly. Sometimes he skips breakfast as I take him to daycare soooo early. He loves fruit and bread, but will eat just about anything I put in front of him. He's eaten everything from lemons to steak to broccoli. He's also drinking from a doidy and thinks drinking like a big boy is the best thing ever. He fully expects any adult around him to share whatever they are eating or drinking and will stare them down until they either share or leave.

He has finally started eating loads of his solids recently (as in the last few days). But he hasn't dropped any milk feeds yet. Still nursing or getting EBM about every 2-3 hours. Including all through the night. :dohh: So, obviously, I have no sleep tips!

Well, I BF for about 5+ months, but then my production drastically dropped, and I HAD to switch to formula. A lactation consultant made the connection that the production started dropping when OH came home (that's also when I started piling on the pounds). Both are stress related.

So now, my child is mostly on formula. I still try BFing him, but I think what little I have left is on its way out. He occasionally gets some solids, only jarred stuff so far, but he doesn't get a lot right now. No teeth yet, either, though he's been teething since 2 months.

Thankfully, he's been sleeping through the night for a while now. If he does wake up early, usually he just plays by himself.

He'll be 7 months in about a week.
