Haylee, This is only my first month charting, so I am still getting used to it. My OPK this morning/afternoon was the same as yesterdays, dark but not quite positive. I looked at the HPT again when doing the OPK and it looked positive, but I have a feeling it was a evap. Check it out and let me know what you guys think. We have only been TTC since last month, so I would be shocked if it was a for sure positive.

Seaweed- Congrats on the first positive! Always nice to see that you're O'ing! My OPK was the same as yesterday. I'll post a pic of yesterdays and today's.

Got my positive OPK! YAY The top test was late morning/early afternoon and the bottom test was about an hour ago.

Thanks! I'm not sure when I'll test yet! Our 1 year wedding anniversary is on the 8th, would be an awesome anniversary present! I will probably test around the same time as you, maybe earlier if i have a lot of symptoms.

Haylee- No, they were done at different times. The HPT was done in the morning with FMU and the OPK was done a couple of hours after that. I am pretty sure the HPT was an evap because I checked it at the same time as doing the OPK and the line was there. My OPK from an hour ago was a for sure positive. I was traveling for work this month around the time I O'd last month, so my body may have been too stressed to produce an egg then.

Yeah cool because I have heard if an opk and hpt touch during "dipping" it can can a false bfp, Aww that would be a lovely 1 year anniversary present for you and OH I still have atleast 10days until I O so I will be here cheering you ladies on

Happy almost anniversary, Nik! Just celebrated our first one a couple weeks ago, and the 7th is my husband's birthday...that's been the test date in my head but I'd be happy for an excuse to move it up b/c it almost feels like too much pressure!

That's an interesting question! I guess I've been assuming I would, but now that you mention it, maybe it is better not to if it's a negative. I'll have to think about that!

Well the HPT test I took this morning i had DH look at because I wasn't sure of the result. I think it would be SO hard not to tell him right away if it was positive. But, I think it would be great to think of a creative way to surprise him, if it was positive.

I already know that I am sending flowers to my mom and his parents to tell them.

If he asks, I will tell him the results if negative. He has been very involved in the whole process and has been asking questions. This is so new to both of us, so it's nice that he is curious about it.

I have been pretty good about POAS addiction. I typically only test OPKs once a day, although today was twice because Seaweed said it looked darker than yesterday, so I couldn't resist the urge to confirm it.

That is great you get to go with DH on business trips. I took a girlfriend with me on my last business trip to San Diego, CA. My other friend works for Chevron and her husband was able to go with her to France for 2 weeks. She said they are going to South America next year! Must be nice!

Sending flowers is a great way to let the family know, what a lovely idea And it's great your OH is really involved with it all. My OH is very laid back and relaxed about it all, doesn't ask too many questions, I sometimes wish he did more often though

I'll be testing twice a day with my opk because that's what was mentioned on the page I got them from some time a LH surge can be less than 12 hours so I just really want to make sure I catch it.

Seaweed I agree with nik, testing the day before sounds like a good idea

Sending flowers, how sweet!! You're right, that would be a lovely birthday surprise, wouldn't it? Like you, though, I think I'd find it hard to keep it in for an entire day! I was happy enough about my OPK today to make him look at that; I can't imagine keeping a to myself for very long

My OPK's didn't come today It's okay because I am only CD 7 but I want to see what they look like
I don't think I'll be keeping a from OH for too long. I'll be showing him right away.. I'm not sure how we are going to tell the family. I'll have to tell my Mum and Dad over the phone because they live soo far away, OH's parents live near by so we will probably invite them over for dinner and tell them then, most people we won't tell until after 12 weeks.
I wish I could hold out until my first scan and then Skype my parents and show them that way but it will be impossible to keep our mouths shut lmao. Mum has wanted grandchildren forever xx

Seaweed, I might test earlier- on the 29th because I already have a doctor's appointment scheduled for that day with my new GP. Do you think the doctor's test would would be positive that soon?

Glad it was helpful! And glad your temp went up! And envious. Mine was still low this morning and I got another positive OPK around noon. Wouldn't bug me except that I wanted to get ovulation over with before leaving, since traveling can delay things and also will make it harder for me to keep track for the next couple days. Hoping today is really ovulation day and not a false start!

I have to say I'm feeling appreciative of mine too...I've put him through a pretty demanding regimen this month and he's done a pretty great job

It depends on whether the embryo has implanted, right? If I recall correctly, that's when you start making HCG, which is what the tests pick up...this is a total guess but I'm guessing most implant by 8 DPO but a substantial minority don't? So, if you were pregnant you might be likely to get a positive, but a negative might not necessarily mean that you are not pregnant? What does everyone else think?

I'm not going to set a firm test date until I'm sure I've ovulated. I forgot that we're going to be on a plane again on the morning of the 7th, so that might not be the best FMU to use...if I ov today then I should be able to test well before that, but if it's later, maybe not? How bizarre would it be to get the first on a plane? It might be kind of amazing actually...memorable at least!

I'm using the cheap ones too... got them from Target. However, I do have some Clear Blue Digital's ready to use. I'll use them the week I think I'm ovulating just to be on the safe side. By the way, I was doing some research and found that I should use first morning urine on the ovulation stick. I should test in the afternoon, around 2-4p. Has anyone heard anything specific about how to use these OPKs? I can use all the help I can get. Thanks!

Your OH sounds like such the sweetie. Sounds like you O'd it's hard when you have to wait 3 temps to confirm O, FX'd you covered all bases

I've read that implantion can happen anywhere for 6-12dpo and then it can take a few days for the hcg to make it to your urine, so im guessing it all depends on when the little beany does implant. Everyone is different though and some get early bfp some get late bfp.

Hey chick yes it is said to not use fmu with opk and to use afternoon urine. Opks are testing for the Luteinizing Hormone (LH). LH is synthesized in our bodies early in the morning and isn't detected in our urine until the afternoon. FX'd if I don't get PG this cycle ill be buying a few digi opks too
