I thought id make a thread for all the women on here with PCOS!! That way we can always be able to find each other and can share problems and questions and successes!!

Come and introduce yourself!!

AFM

Always suspected PCOS but only just diagnosed. Have had irregular periods since coming off the pill in July.
I had 1 normal cycle timing wise straight after And since then they have been crazy. Had an internal ultrasound last month, which was clear of cysts and the technician said everything was fine. However had a blood test on Wednesday and the results indicate PCOS as my hormone ratio is irregular.

I have twice had positive ovulation tests in my last two cycles but haven't confirmed ovulation through temps. The positives only lasted a day and were clear blue smiley faces. Doctor said that high temperatures aren't essential so we can't rule out ovulation. Which goes against everything I've ever read on the internet, so I'm not sure I believe him!!

Anyway, he has referred me to the gynaecology department who will do regular ovary scans to check for ovulation and will eventually give me Clomid!

Anyone else out there with CYSTLESS OVARIES but PCOS diagnosis?
Anyone get positive ovulation tests and not ovulate?
Anyone ovulate and not get high temperatures Afterwards?

Glad to see this thread! DH & I are WTT for #2 but only until I can manage my PCOS symptoms better & lose some weight. I was diagnosed in May of this year after an ultrasound that showed both ovaries covered in cysts. I also have very irregular periods (finally got it this past weekend after 5 months of nothing!). My doctor has put me on Metformin to help in aiding with my weight loss as I haven't been able to lose weight despite exercising 5x a week & eating healthy. I currently weigh 184 lbs (I'm 5'3), but I would like to get down to 120 before getting pregnant to ensure the healthiest pregnancy possible :) I also have a 3.5 year old son. He was unplanned (but a huge blessing!), and I had no idea I even had PCOS at that point.

It's nice to meet you guys! :hugs:

I'm 5.4 and weigh 164 so I need to lose weight too. I don't exercise because I'm so exhausted at the end of every day! I'm a teacher and teach year 2 so it's hard work! Going to have to start doing something though!!

Hello kelz!' Did you fall pregnant naturally with your daughter? Good luck with NTNP x

Hiya everyone.

I'm Tara, 28, diagnosed with PCOS in 2010 after 4 years ttc, I wasn't ovulating at all naturally because of the pcos, finally got prescribed clomid September 2011 after having to lose 2st and got pregnant 1st go but sadly lost baby and then again on my third round with my beautiful son. To my shock I got pregnant naturally when my little boy was 1 but at my scan I found out the baby had no heartbeat which was devastating. Only just feel ready to start ttc again and hoping it will happen naturally again. Going to chart my next few cycles and if it shows in possibly not ovulating again I'm hoping to get prescribed clomid again. Looking forward to being able to talk to people in a similar situation x

hi lou yup with no help i think what helped was id lost some weight and id finally got an appointment with a specialist and we stopped trying so that took alot of stress away and then a week before my appointment i got a bfp hoping it happens again or back to the docs i go

Princess, sorry for your losses but your little one is so gorgeous! Love his name! Really hoping I can ovulate on my own without meds!! Wondering if my body is trying to ovulate because my boobs have been twinging for days!

Exhaustion is my issue too lol, by the time I put my son down I'm ready to go to bed myself! One of the things my doctor recommended for me is to try a low carb diet. She has seen huge results with other women losing weight who have PCOS, and majority of them got pregnant within a month or two of switching to low carb. I'm thinking about giving it a shot to see if it will help at all combined with the Metformin.

I've lost 2 stone preparing for ttc and I did a clean eating, not really a diet bur a lifestyle change. Nothing processed of from a packet, noting with lots of chemicals like low sugar and low calorie foods and I cut out white carbs and bread x

Oh wow, that's super encouraging! How long did it take you to lose that? My downfall is white carbs for sure, especially bread, so I know it'll be a bit tough lol.

I started in March and had lost the weight by June and I've still managed to maintain it which in the past is what I've struggled with the most. I did struggle at first but now it's the the norm x

Hi there! I was diagnosed with PCOS in August and I am clear of cysts. Currently taking metformin which as helped me loose about 10 lbs. My periods have been irregular for about 2 years now and i am currently going with an endocrinologist which is trying to regulate ovulation and hormonal abnormalities :)

All you ladies already have children! This cheers me up. I cannot wait for my appt with fertility clinic. Getting the appt letter before Xmas will be the best Xmas present I could get!! (Short of a BFP or ovulation)!!
