Hi Everyone!!
So my story, I’ve been trying to conceive for about 2 years and couldn’t figure out for the life of me why I was no pregnant. After countless ob's telling me that irregular periods are fine as long as you have two a year I decided it was time to get a 10 opinion!! I went to a fertility specialist who did tests and confirmed that I have PCOS. I believe in the power of prayer, so I didn’t let this info discourage me. If god is willing I will have a child. So with doing enough research to be deemed a PCOS and fertility treatment doctor (ha ha) I decided clomid was my next step. My boyfriend and I didn’t have to provide a semen analysis due to the fact he has children already, so that was a relief because he switched jobs and isn’t eligible for insurance as of yet. I finally found a doctor that I feel completely comfortable with and I have an appointment on the 13th to start Provera to start my menstrual cycle and then on to CLOMID!!!!!!!! I am so excited and feel like there is a baby bump light at the end of the tunnel after reading the post from you lovely ladies!!
Side note: with my PCOS they did tell me i have an insulin resistance and i started metformin like a year ago and stopped due to the side effects which i seemed to have all of them! How many of you started Metformin, stopped and started again. Did the side effects come back, lessen..?? Any info would be greatly appreciated!
• Also with the hostile cm what methods did you all use to combat the hostile cm?

** Baby dust to all** you are all in my prayers!!

Hello!!

Well, metformin always gave me side effects... As I live in Ecuador where you can buy medication without prescription :)haha:) I did buy metformin some other time and side effects came back.
With clomid I had side effects when I took the pill in the morning, and found no side effects if I took then before bed, but it's important to try to take it at the same time!

Did you get scans? It's good idea to determine on what CD you ovulate!
Also praying and patience helped! :haha: the cycle I was distracted by trips and not caring much for TTC I got pregnant.. Our brains can play us a cruel game, so distraction can help!

Have fun TTC, baby dust for you! :hugs:

Hi ladies:

First time posting. I was diagnosed with PCOS when I was 14. I had two boys, now 12 and 16. I conceived without having no cycle. I am very irregular sometime up to 5yrs without a cycle. I now have been trying to conceive with my partner for two years and had 3 miscarriages in the past year. I started a cycle on July 26th and ended on July 31st. The Doctor gave me Metformin which I started on Aug 1st. Three days after my cycle and two days on 850mg of Metformin I felt the common symptoms of the pill. Had diarrhea for the two days, dizzy and nauseous. But I also, felt cramps on one side and my breast started getting swollen and tender nipples. To this day, I am feeling these symptoms, moodiness, cramping, metallic taste, very sore breasts, nausea, certain foods make me sick, my scene of smell is enhanced, craving sweets, which I never cared for sweets even when I was little. Bloated and also my hands and feet at times feel swollen. I started 1700 mg of Metformin 2 days ago. I know is too early and I just took a test, which came out with a very, very faint half positive line. I don't think I am pregnant, had a lot of experiences with false positive tests. Have any of you ladies experienced these symptoms while taking Metformin? I feel preggo but I am confused. I never had all these symptoms for such a long period of time. I think is too early for me to be pregnant. Any advise?

Anamelya,

I had none of these symptoms with metformin! I was just shaky, weak, and never hungry!

Hope it's a BFP for you! I'm crossing my fingers! :hugs:

Really?! I hope so too. I'll find out on the 30th. Thank you for the positive vibe!!!! :)

Anameyla, what was the out come??

Im on my third round of clomid CD 12 now. Back to obgyn on Oct 4 dont know what the next step is?

Hey steph! Dunno what the next step is as it changes from doctor to doctor and I'm in another country and here things are different!

As for me, last year my doctor said that after 2 clomid rounds the body needs to rest one cycle, and if by 1 year of clomid we wouldn't have success he'd recommend another options.
Before, he performed an ultrasound on CD12 to see if I was going to ovulate (meaning if clomid was working or not.), and he checked DH's sperm. In my case DH's Sperm was good and my body did react well to clomid, so in case of no success he'd wanted to know if I had endometriosis or something else!

Good luck! :hugs:

Thanks!! We have checked dh sprem last year all is well :) We do a day 21 blood work here and it confirmed ovulation the first month so with the symptoms hes sure I ovulate every month on it. And ive been getting positive opks to :) So positive things for sure!

That's fantastic news, Steph!! :happydance:
Now only be patient and :sex: a lot!! :winkwink:

We did our fair share of bding this month :) I really dont think I ovulated this month though, no sore nipples or tenderness at all. My uterus still feels tender though (palpate stomach) so Im confused like usual.

When I got my BFP, I had no symptoms! So you're not out until the witch catches you! :hugs:
